I'm bigger than she is and can fend off the blows -- but is this going to be a problem in our marriage?
  • Some of the worst advice ever

Talk about dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Someone prone to physical violence is not limited to their fist, especially during a rage. There are these things out in the real world called GUNS. And people with a propensity for emotional violence, no matter how small, can find them and pull the trigger. Then, even if you're a 250 lb. linebacker-type (like myself), you are dead.

Being one of those 250 lb. linebacker-types, my mother programmed me from an early age to be nonviolent. Aside from a few schoolyard rows, I have been. Being nonviolent in dispute resolution is a core of civilized society. If your partner can't adhere, don't marry her. Drop her like a hot rock. She hasn't even gotten to the point where she can own her own behavior. By most definitions, that person isn't just abusive-- she is a sociopath.

Because maybe one of these times, she'll have a weapon. And it will be too late.
