Octomom of the year

Critics are disgusted by Nadya Suleman's Fox special

Oh, come on ...

Are you really so naive as to believe that a heavily edited show about Octomom would give a true picture of her abilities as a mother? She may be as good as you say, but in order to make that call you'd have to look at all the raw footage. And it doesn't make sense, intuitively, that anybody with her rather obvious constellation of issues never yells at the kids.

Speaking of un-ringing a bell ...

How about un-tooting this horn?

"But as an observer of human behavior and psychological projection, I'd say she does a hell of a better job than a whole lot of her critics."

No one except you thinks you have any special insight into human projection, and your writings to date suggest a well below-average emotional comprehension, not to mention writing skill. In short, you are arrogant without cause and the only thing you have going for you is your infinite well of self-esteem, your chief accomplishment in life.

"she dismisses the public vitriol as something that "feels safe, because then you don't have to deal with yourself.""

No doubt, in this you recognized your wittiness and human comprehension in what you must feel was a prescient, sardonic and insightful remark from Ms. Suleman.

What's that you say? The remark is shallow and pointless, not even up to greeting card level? Oh.

I have studiously avoided the Octomom story for many months now, but I wonder what it is that affords her such sympathy from you. Did she, like you, also kick her husband out for not making enough money?

Her means were provided by my imploding state government

I am still incensed that she was allowed many, many thousands of dollars of DISABILITY pay when she was shown on Radar bouncing on a trampoline holding two children simultaneously--while she was STILL on disability. She supposedly had a "bad back!" The wonderful state of California has been the enabler for this narcissistic, delusional liar. Now of course the "bad-mom porn" voyeurs are paying her. Sue her for the fraudulent claim and allow CPS to help those poor kids!

Ms Williams

Is Thadeus Crumb your ex husband?

Did we watch the same special?

What I saw was a woman who has clearly sought some sort of fame or infamy and got it by exploiting these children. She is NOT able to spend an adequate amount of time with the children due to the fact there aren't enough hours in a single day in which to give each child the attention and love it deserves. You could see it in the way the older boys were acting out. These children will write a tell-all someday and will probably seek to emancipate themselves as soon as legally able. The fact she had these octuplets on top of already having 6 under the age of 10 without any anticipation as to how she was going to afford basic care let alone plan for their future makes her a poor mother at best... at worst she has 14 victims of neglect whose live have already been destroyed.

Mary Elizabeth, you are dead wrong -- that bell can be unrung

If anyone had a shred of decency or balls. And that is, every one of those children -- all fourteen -- must be taken from her care, placed with foster families and eventually adopted to decent caring COMPETENT parents. Fortunately, most are very cute, and all are young, and it should be relatively easy (at least for those children who are not permanently disabled, thanks to their mother's intentional neglect).

As pointed out above, the TV show (which I wouldn't watch, outside of commercials I can't avoid) is obviously edited to be favorable to Ms. Suleman, or she would not participate in it. I am confident the times she is screaming, or the house filthy, or the children whining, are mostly edited away.

BTW: Ms. Williams, there is a reason you write for Broadsheet and the NYTimes uses Ginia Bellafante: it's because she is a better writer and more insightful thinker. (Consider that when making future career plans.) You are naive and gullible and making excuses for a woman who is a monster.

"It's never explained how Nadya was able to afford all her fertility treatments, her staff of full-time nannies, her new home or her high-tech security system."

Ma. Williams, did you sleep all through this story earlier this year? Nadya Suleman "afforded" all her fertility treatments and her plastic surgeries by DEFRAUDING the State of California for over $140K in "workers comp" benefits for what was obviously a non-existent injury -- nobody with severe back pain would consider impregnation with 8 embryos. Her parents, who supported her all this time, apparently knew nothing of her giant cash award! Because it was spent on plastic surgery to her face, and interspersed with fertility treatments.

Bringing the question: why isn't her doctor in jail? He is as guilty as she is.

It is painfully obvious that Nadja had these babies not because she loves children or is a "super mom" but because she had a deliberate desire to emulate both Angelina Jolie (in appearance) and Kate Gosselin (with multiples AND a TV show), and she aimed to outdo both, and she did. She is a very sick, destructive woman who cares nothing for any of her little children, who are no more that cash cows for her.

It is reported that she spends time shopping and doing her makeup, while her children scream and are cared for by unlicensed illegal nannies. I have no doubt this is true; it fits her profile.

There are paparazzi on her lawn because she WANTS them there; it's no accident. If they weren't there, she'd do something to get them there ... set the house on fire, have another eight babies. Anything. She's a pitiful fame junkie and media whore, and it would be funny if she wasn't destroying 14 little lives to get her fantasy dream of celebrity.

At least Mrs. Suleman, Sr., has her daughter's number. But Mary Elizabeth is too lame to figure it out, I guess.

"Bell that can't be unrung" is a coward's dodge; the attempt of a heartless gold-digger and greedhead, to excuse her behaviors and avoid responsibility. The last thing she needs is our complicity.
