    We got married in the 90's for a very good reason: health insurance

    I had it, she didn't. Quick trip to the judge's office and we were husband and wife. Had a dinner party later for family and close friends. Simple.

    Back then we saw no reason for marriage (and yes, our taxes went up), but it soon worked some kind of alchemy and made our relationship deeper. Go figure.

    Maybe this is why Repugs are so anti-universal health insurance; they want to encourage marriage. Ah, love.
