"No matter the player, family values will always be more popular than misandry, even if some cannot practice what they preach."
Ya got us there h0tr0d! We’re just jealous that this queen of good-old fashioned family values is going to grab the golden ring of political accomplishment before any of us hardened bitch feminists get there. Just what is it about this maternal goddess that riles us so much? Is it the way she lovingly parades her special needs newborn across the country as an anti-choice talking point, or uses her small daughter as a human shield in front of a boisterous Philly hockey crowd? Or maybe it's her loving exploitation of her teenage daughter's pregnancy as another family values talking point? Oh, I got it! It's that special way in which she thinks so little about her children's collective education that she pulls them all out of school for months on end to serve as a campaign sideshow. Damn, she's something.
and each and every member of her family. Don't spare the criticism, you hupocrites.
Go watch some online porn. We can do without you.
Wish you were there doing the pumping or grunting.
Maybe the press haven't gone after Sasha and Malia because they have to date presented such positive images of American girlhood. They are poised, sweet-dispositioned and even funny!
What parent (certain wingnuts excluded of course) wouldn't want to have them in the family?
Now, if dad stays in the White House for two full terms and we see them growing into awkward adolescence, that may change...
When she trooped out onto a hockey rink in NYC with little Piper as a human shield against the disapprobation of the crowd (a fact she was quite blatant about, saying something to the effect that the crowd wouldn't dare boo little Piper; they booed anyway, but of course it was little Piper's mother they were boooing), that told me all I needed to know about her "maternal" instincts. She doesn't have any.
Her pouting about the desecration of the "iconic" picture of her holding Trig, is very telling. She expects her followers to react as if it were a "desecration" of the Madonna and Child. That is, she is only maternal to the point that she expects that image to deflect criticism.
As a woman I'm more than a little offended by the pandering Ms. Palin has done with her role as a mother.
Would a strong mother ask her children - at their ages especially - to weigh in and sanction her career decisions? Or would she and their father be strong and united parents in informing the kids how it's going to be, and how they come first? Would she integrate them into her campaigning (in an obvious appeal to voters) or would she protect them from what was sure to be a very harsh spotlight? Wouldn't a strong mother balk at role modeling how to quit one's obligation to the state as governor?
I don't see strong motherhood, I see a lot of grandstanding... using her kids to meet her own career needs.
I think Sarah has a hint of mental retardation. Her way of speaking is that of an 8 year old. The funny thing is that the media overlooks it. Now we are covering this fact with words such as "Palin-style" = retarded,"strange, not-quite-clear idiom" = speech impediment.
No thanks. Besides, I have a hard time believing you are able to multitask at anything. Doesn't your mommy pin a note to your sleeve in order to remind you to breathe?
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending soldiers out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." --Sarah Pailn, on the Iraq war, speaking to students at the Wasilla Assembly of God, June 2008.
This woman is considered to be sane? She knows what God's "plan" is? Do we want this person anywhere near a position of national power?
....and how exactly have these spectacular maternal instincts helped the people of Alaska or made her anymore engaged in governing, analytical thought or placing simple sentences together in a cohesive manner?
Please, give us break.
She's a moron period.
You must not be hanging around many women these days...
I define being maternal as nurturing, protecting not exploiting and stage managing. She has used those poor children as props to further her own goals...having the light on her, at any cost.
"Don't dare talk about Sasha and Malia but savage Sarah and each and every member of her family."
OK, I'll bite. Sarah needs no help from us in savaging her family. Ruthless exploitation of her children seems to be the one area in which Sarah truly excels.
The woman is a still a kook unfit for office. With her combination of ignorance and arrogance, she would have been a danger to the nation in the same way that Bush was.
I will be more than happy to never hear about her ever again. Please stop giving this woman's awful career any more oxygen.
I had a mother who taught me to say what she wanted me to say...and when you're young, they have to manipulate your thoughts and feelings to get you to do it. It. Sucks. Hugely. And it fucks you up.
Lordy! I am so sorry.
As for the rest of you, there are few things worse than having a Personality-Disordered parent. It behooves everyone to learn as much as they can about PD's, especially Borderline and Narcissitic PD's. It will give you excellent insight as to why some people behave as they do. If this letter spares even one person from a bad relationship, I will be overjoyed.
Poor kids, tho- they grow up thinking this kind of thing is normal.
Low-class broads with more arrogance than intelligence and a whole laundry list of skeletons waiting to be outed shouldn't parade their kids in front of the world and act outraged when they get mud slung at them, especially when one of their kids is an unwed, teenaged mother. Palin might might as well have taken out airtime for 15 second spots proclaiming "See what a white-trash cliche I am?" If and or when the Obamas' daughters are ever trashy or indiscrete, that whole family will be fair game, too, and they'll get it harder than the Palins ever have. Of course, from all appearances, it looks like the Obamas are two highly intelligent and conscientious parents. Gee, think that makes a difference in a kid's life?
