After a long day at work I came home and turned on my tv and learned Senator McCain picked Governor Palin as his running mate I just burst out laughing. I have never seen a politician who craves attention like MCCAIN he makes so many quick decisions its scary. He just lost the election she is really going to be a hard sell.
I am however enjoying the fact that somewhere right now Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty are crying in a corner.
Tom Ridge is shaking his head, Pennsylvania and Michigan are aghast at the fact McCain just threw their states under the bus and has lost this election.
Obama was surging ahead in Gallup by 4 points as early as Wednesday. By Monday he'll be up to 6 easily.
The Republicans are even dumber than I thought they were.
Not newsworthy because we've already seen him read the same speech 50 times and he mispronounced inextricably in the most important part of the speech.
He's more like a circus dog walking on its hind legs. Gets your attention for a few minutes but then it's tedious.
The only choice that would have been better for the Dems is Joe Lieberman. If Obama's choosing Biden caused McCain to pick Palin, than it was the best decision he could have made.
Is YES, he absolutely should have.
As to Ms. Palin's "beauty": It's that plasticine beauty- pageant look.
To me, she looks like the head waitress at a truck stop.
He met her once, last February, and he makes this decision?
He might as well have given the slot to Bush's caddy. Oh wait, that's him.
Oh, and she's a Buchanan backer too.
Three days of lots of people doing web research on her will turn up a lot. We already know she's a reactionary, corrupt, inexperienced, and ignorant, and that McCain barely knows her and picked her because she's a woman and (the bone to the media)good-looking.
By next week, she WILL be Harriet Miers.
my candidate Bill Richardson did win the nomination, and I think it was sexism so I will never vote for women candidate again lol
Then the 527 ads with her criticizing Obama, stories on Bill's most recent dalliances and other nonsense would have started. Obama, to his credit, picked a VP based on credentials and need - not in response to polls. The Republicans, for all their complaints about celebrity and vapidness - picked a totally unqualifed VP for a few votes. You can't find Palin's positions on almost anything because she has none - except it's OK to shoot polar bears --
It's insulting to imply women vote for women only -I would hope Hillary supporters liked her because of her accomplishments and other great qualities - and not because of her gender. Obama's 12 years in public service is much more than 20 months of Palin in a rural state with alot of natural beauty but equal amount of corruption. And if the REpublicans think that will be lost on anyone -- think again.
Once upon a time there were three billy goats, who were to go up to the hillside to make themselves fat, and the name of all three was "Gruff."
On the way up was a bridge over a cascading stream they had to cross; and under the bridge lived lolcait, with eyes as big as saucers, and a nose as long as a poker.

The truck stop waitress you're insulting... is that the same waitress that Obama mentioned in his speech? Or do waitresses have to be Democrat feminists to count?
"We measure the strength of our economy not by the number of billionaires we have or the profits of the Fortune 500, but by whether someone with a good idea can take a risk and start a new business, or whether the waitress who lives on tips can take a day off and look after a sick kid without losing her job, an economy that honors the dignity of work..." Barack Obama, 8/28/08

This is why nobody on Salon should trust anything lolcait ever says in one of his/her posts.
Next week the GOP hold there convention and we will here nothing but attack , trash , bash, fear mongering and Palin might even bring her favorite assault weapon to take out all the Hillary supporters who are pro-choice. Mccain will be flip flopping his flappers sounding like the grumpy old man accross the street shouting at me to keep of his grass. I can't wait for them to make Obama's case for change for him .
This was at Palin's web site - well, it's the Google Cached version, as it appears to not be accessible at her web site right this moment:
February 6, 2008, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin congratulated the federal Minerals Management Service on the successful lease sale where oil companies bid a record $2.66 billion today for oil and gas leases in the Chukchi Sea off Northwest Alaska. According to the U.S. Department of Interior, this represents the largest Outer Continental Shelf lease sale in the history of Alaska.
The Minerals Management Service received 667 bids for leases covering 2.8 million acres on Alaska’s outer continental shelf. Although the leases are on federal lands and are not subject to state taxes, Alaska will see economic benefit in the form of new and exciting opportunities for Alaska’s contractors and businesses. Governor Palin praised Shell, which accounted for more than three-fourths of the winning bids. Since resuming Alaska operations in 2005, the company has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on projects here.
“I especially applaud Shell for its continued commitment to responsible resource development in Alaska,” Governor Palin said. “Shell continues to play a major part in meeting the world's growing energy needs, and we are pleased this company continues to include Alaska in its plans.”
I guess her website must be down or overwhelmed by all the traffic.
The Mineral Management Sevice has been run by a series of Cheney cronies, most recently his ex-aide Randall Luthi of Wyoming, who worked hand in hand with Sarah Palin on the oil leases.
