Say Goodbye to Roe vs. Wade.
That is how they do it. Sell you a "liberal" who is really a conservative. Well, she is "liberal" when it comes to Latino issues.
"Something to read on the plane...in the bathroom."
With "judge not" and "render unto Ceasar" underlined all throughout.
It's not about if you believe abortion is right or wrong, it's if our laws should enforce one religion's beliefs on everyone!
His route to reducing abortion isn't to make it illegal but to prevent unplanned pregnancies ... through birth control ...
Because, as we already know and the Pope clearly doesn't, or doesn't wish to believe: Banning abortion does not reduce the abortion rate.
Obama sucks up to a religious dictator with wife-in-designer-veil in tow. Utterly vile. I thought Michelle in particular would have more dignity, but obviously not.
why obama is kissing the ass of that ol' nazi, who now prefers silk undies and satin robes, i'll never know ... talk about the the big lie: if it isn't promoted by that asshole in rome, i want to know who it is.
We know he never really attended church early in life. An atheist might hold out hope that his 20 years under Rev. Wright was just a long term plan for his political future. A fundamentalist might call him a hard core Muslim or acknowledge he has strong beliefs.
Obama has allowed himself to be secularly enigmatic. I personally hope he ignores the Pope and simply used the opportunity to further deny us a chance to pigeonhole him. The non-religious crowd is getting restless at all the dumb things church leaders do and say. It would be nice to have an atheist as president for once.
Not only are they men, and thus have no right to say anything about what women do with their bodies, but I fail to understand how the leader of an organization that has systematically protected child rapists has any moral relevance at all. The pope makes me sick, and the idea that people listen to this bullshit and try to impose it on others is downright infuriating.
> "men...have no right to say anything about what women do with their bodies..."
Right. So women are "free" to put narcotics in their BODIES? Move said bodies at 200 MPH on highways? Eat jewelry in stores and claim ownership of same? Unless you live alone in private woods, society can, will, and does stipulate limitations and obligations.
Yet somehow females feel free to vote to draft male "bodies" to protect them in war.
What happens when men say you can no longer force THEIR bodies to earn money for uterine excreta they did not want born?
How old is America? Think it'll last as long as 5,000 year old Mideast countries that view men better? Think most men would prefer modern feminism over the Taliban? If so, why? And for how long?
Keep acting like men are lapdogs. Roe has been around for what: 36 years? It can be gone in a queef. If it IS overturned, won't it be fun spouting anti-male shite then?
Wimmin, like Aryans, think themselves morally superior.
Bwahahahahaha!
As the comments show President Obama was correct in saying this is not a Christian Nation. Where is the charity or the compassion in those comments? God gave us free will and this Nation gives us the opportunity to the pursuit of life liberty and happiness. As a Nation we have squandered our rights in the pursuit of Ideologies that corrupt, destruct and cause the death of millions to enrich ourselves and use God as a badge of virtue to cover our hypocrisy.
Benedict is the former Grand Inquisitor of the Vatican inquisition in his new role as a old prancing queen. He is part of the Vatican's pedophile priest cover-up conspiracy. As such, he has no moral authority.
To read about how he lectured Obama about his twisted Catholic moral theology is a joke.
This is what gets chronically lost in the shuffle: That making abortion illegal does not reduce the number of abortions, does not save the "unborn." The only thing it accomplishes is the barbaric punishment of women.
When a pregnancy is unwanted or harmful to a woman, a legal requirement to continue the pregnancy constitutes governmental intrusion on a woman’s right to jurisdiction over her own body and failure to protect women from being dehumanized to the status of an incubator.
The male majority that has made all the laws restricting women from making the decisions about their own bodies will never suffer from any of the side effects of pregnancy, including death.
According to SafeMotherhood.org, "Every minute of every day, somewhere in the world a woman dies from complications related to pregnancy or childbirth. That is 515,000 women, at a minimum, dying every year. For every woman who dies, 30 to 50 women suffer injury, infection, or disease."
sounds as if the book the boy nazi gave obama is in latin ... a dead language ... figures.
I also agree.
If a woman discovers that she is pregnant and she does not want to be pregnant, who is benefitted by making it illegal for her to obtain an abortion? The child that may come into being? Perhaps if you assigned a member of the pregnancy police to supervise . . .
It is obvious, you would think, that giving birth to a child has to be something that the woman who is giving birth has to want to do. If the woman doesn't want to, the problems created -- especially for the child -- are immense. To see this as unfortunate, to try to figure out how this happens, and to try to make it as rare as possible all strike me as worthy political goals. Coerced pregnancy isn't on that list. Even if it were not clearly unjust toward women, it would in any case be useless.
BTW, to those crowing about the overturn of Roe v. Wade -- what do you think that would accomplish? Rather than having early abortion be a constitutionally-protected privacy right for all American women (which, even after all the back and forth and criticism from all sides, still makes good sense), it would be up to each state to decide for itself whether or not to allow elective abortions. That wouldn't make abortion illegal. It might make it chaotic, it might even make it very expensive, but it wouldn't make it illegal.
Morning-after pills, Plan B, and all the rest (not to mention invasive prenatal testing, fertility clinics that do not treat embryos as human persons, and so forth) wouldn't suddenly disappear. I thought everyone knew that.
Now consider what firefly82 is telling you -- even if abortion were illegal, that wouldn't stop it. In fact, if it were illegal, it might become so expensive that more and more people would be tempted to provide illegal abortions. You could even end up with more abortions because there would be more access to abortion providers -- for a price.
Think cocaine.
