well....

that made my day! nice to see HRC doing her thing!

ALRGHT HILLARY

You go girl. I loved her response. She it the nail on the head. Finally somebody who does not beat around the bush on reproductive health issues!

Hillary put up wth some very obnoxious and sometimes condescending remarks during this hearing. She beat the old boys back on more than one issue.

Friday, April 24, 2009 02:55 PM

That was awesome

I'd like to send this clip to all those people who threatened to vote for McCain/Palin because Hillary wasn't the Democratic nominee. This is why I never could have. (that and I supported Obama from very early on) Can you imagine the McCain administration's SoS having the same answer?

Friday, April 24, 2009 02:56 PM

so.

I think we can put to rest the "HRC isn't really a champion of women's rights" myth.

Joy

It was nice to see our 45th President squash some poisonous bugs.

Mass Hate Murder

This is all about mass murdering pesky minorities around the world. I can't wait until the world is enlightened and these hate mongers leave power. Let us all work towards that goal.

Hooray for Hill!

Some of those "women and men who have been kept in ignorance" would obviously include Rep. Smith.

For the past quarter-century, our government has been secretly seized by pod-people who believe in transferring wealth from the poor to the rich, and in putting rich old white men in charge of women's wombs.

It's time to turn on the light and send the roaches scurrying for the cracks. The most popular administration since Jack Kennedy stands four-square for reproductive rights, and if ignorant rich old white men don't like it, they can go suck an onion.

Rich Old White Men

The "rich old white men" are the ones feeding you your "own beliefs" through the mass media. They also want abortion so when they have affairs, the "rich old white men" can murder the evidence. DNA of a baby can be so convicting.

I believe the technical term

For said video is an ass whuppin. Or perhaps Takedown.

My favorite part: "You have every right to advance your views. And so do we."

These people need to get out more so they can really understand the world and their place in it. Which isn't at the right hand of the Lord, I don't think.

Bravo, Hillary!

That was wonderful. Secretary Clinton spoke for so many of us in that speech. One gets the impression that this is something she has been longing to say and finally, now that the Democrats are in power, she got her chance.

I sympathize deeply with people who are sincerely opposed to abortion. However, I will not be lectured to by a political party -- the GOP -- that by word and deed has demonstrated that it does not give a damn about people once they have been born.

Hillary Says it All

. . . the unborn have fewer rights than Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

According to the obama administration.

Friday, April 24, 2009 04:45 PM

But what's the point?

We say this, they say that.

Friday, April 24, 2009 04:45 PM

God Bless Hillary

Opposition to abortion is neither here nor there. Never has been, never will be. Women have them, whether they are legal or not. It's a fantasy that any law can actually proscribe a woman's behaviour in the life and death situation a woman finds herself in when she has an unplanned pregnancy. Basically, just like being in a war zone, you won't know how you feel until you get there. And guess what, you xxxxxx Republican xxxxxx's, you never will be there. Unless, yes, that temptress you were having it off with is presumptuous enough to get pregnant, of course .... grrrrr. ANYWAYS, isn't this a relief? What a woman does with her body can't be legislated, but her RIGHT to do as she needs to do can be, and that makes all the difference in the world. The difference between life and death. Between self esteem and being a victim your whole life. Between wanted children and unwanted ones. And, believe me, for all you who deeply sympathise with those who oppose abortion, an unwanted child is not a heartwarming thing to see or be. And yes wouldn't it be lovely if they could all be adopted into loving homes but it just doesn't work like that. Thank GOD for Hillary!

@LauraBB

You really think God will bless hillary's pro-abortion stance?

Hell's starting to look desirable.

Friday, April 24, 2009 04:50 PM

-- LauraBB

"women will have them anyway". Yes, and they sometimes drown their children in bathtubs. So should we legalize that?

Friday, April 24, 2009 04:56 PM

If only we had a president as honest and direct

as Hillary.

Friday, April 24, 2009 04:59 PM

fantastic

This is a fabulous clip, and shows off why I (and lots of people like me) would have preferred Clinton in the presidency.

Friday, April 24, 2009 05:03 PM

@ NotOrbitBoy

Watch the video again.

Bassackwards stances like outlawing abortion INCREASE both abortion rates as well as the number of women who die in botched abortion procedures.

Advocating abstinence-only education and preventing young people from access to birth control and good information INCREASES the number of unwanted pregnancies and therefore both abortions as well as bad family situations.

What part of "safe, legal, and rare" don't you fucking get? Are you intentionally stupid? You would have to be.

God will bless Hillary for acting to save lives (both living and unborn) while conservative fuckwards like you just talk about it.

Treeple: The point

True, we say this, they say that, but we are in charge now. ;)

Friday, April 24, 2009 05:03 PM

-- Rosenkavalier

I must say, as an objective observer, I do believe Hillary is a true liberal believer. I think Obama is more of a lawyer/spokesman for the powers that be.

Friday, April 24, 2009 05:08 PM

-- Rosenkavalier

Because of the teachings of the old white bald guys that run the entertainment industry, the mass media, and the news-- of course you are going to have more abortions whether legal or not. Those old white bald guys have been pushing your daughters and sons to hump like rabits for the last 50 years.

@ DurianJoe

It's good to be king ;-)

Or at least, to have voted for him. (And what luck for us that all the king's men now include Hillary.)

Friday, April 24, 2009 05:11 PM

DJoe

But eventually, they'll be back in power, and they'll still be assholes. But don't listen to me, you're a fighter.

Friday, April 24, 2009 05:15 PM

Rosenkavalier, Treeple

Amen to both of y'all.

The Stupids are always there, hoping to regain control. But for now they're beaten down, and we are smarter and stronger than they are. If we stay vigilant, we can keep them down for a long, long time, and in the process whittle their ranks away to a mere distraction by the thing they fear most: progress.
