Bill Clinton has officially morphed into a complete...

Jerk.

Alas.

He feels Todd's pain

Bill Clinton never wanted his wife to be president. Even his close friends will admit, off the record, that he was at best conflicted about it... which explains his constant missteps during the campaign. He wants to be the only Clinton in the White House and undermined his wife every step of the way to make sure that would be the case.

Imagine if Hillary were Obama's v.p. and they were all at a state dinner. How do you think Bubba would react when they announced -- "President Obama & Mrs. Obama," then "Vice-President Clinton and Mr. Clinton"? His outsized ego couldn't have handled it.

His props to jock/enforcer like Todd are right out of political ass-kissing 101... and his ramblings about gender-bending are useful only in the abstract.

I'm sure you've given this topic as much, if not more, thought in your writings and private moments than he has.

a new side of Mr.Clinton...

I'm not kidding either. I like it. More men in supporting roles please.

only 2 comments on this one- maybe it needed a Palin pic to get the Pavlovian juices flowing?

Also in the Fox interview . . . .

Bill waxed eloquent on his high personal regard for John McCain, and offered an anecdote.

By contrast to McCain and Todd Palin, Bill's endorsement last night of Obama was purely logical. The Democratic platform is commendable. Obama is the nominee entrusted with that platform. Therefore, Obama's candidacy is commendable.

I found it painful to watch, from the standpoint of poor Barack. Although, in a way, Bill makes the case against the Republicans better than the MSM, with his emphasis on statistics and living standards. The MSM is obsessed with petunia vs. marigold controversies from the mayoral garden clubs of Walissa.

Your wife runs for president and what it engenders about about the genders

Those remarks say one thing to me, Bubba Bill is one SERIOUS ego stroking asshole.

Clinton

I actually enjoy this boy. He is funny. I go out of my way to listen to him. When he was running and was the Prez I couldn't stand him.

Of course he wants Hillary to be President. Think of all the fun he'd have in the East Wing AND the Exec Office Building. Hell he'd have Airforce 3 and it would be the greatest party airplane there is.

I being an arch conservative enjoy his weak endorsement of Tony Rezko's friend. This is more fun than watching the Three Stooges.

Marxist of the world, lighten up.

Historic?

Looks to me like she'll be the second woman candidate for Vice President that lost, notable because she ran for the other party.

Anyone remember the name of the second Russian to step on the moon?

Give me a break !

C'mon Salon, how many more journalists will we have to listen to as they hang on Bill Clinton's every word, no matter how asinine or self-absorbed? And how long will the public put up with a press which has legitimized the candidacy of an utterly inexperienced, intolerant and ignorant woman with extremist and wacky religious notions before they wake up? The current state of affairs is a fitting end to the worst, most corrupt and incompetent administration in US history, due in part to a corporate owned and run media which has failed over and over to do its job. And Ms. Traister's take on Clinton is precisely what I mean. Give me a break indeed !!

The bottom line is that I think both dudes will vote for Obama

Sarah Palin could not be where she is without a loyal hubby who is a Democrat. What red-blooded Republican guys do you know who would quit their day jobs to become the fulltime stay-at-home Daddy to an infant with Down's Syndrome? I personally have never met a stay-at-home Dad who voted Republican. Gen X and Y men who are the primary care-givers for their children are committed to a work/life balance for themselves, their wives and kids. Clinton doesn't harm Obama in the least in recognizing that Todd Palin is going against the cultural norm that expects women always to be the primary care-givers to children and elderly parents.

And you sir, are one seriously demented idiot if you think his analysis was anything off the mark. When the media darlings can bring speech analysts to dissect Hillary's speech patterns, your dismissal of anything gender-based shows how obtuse you are with your face firmly buried in the partisan sand.

Suck it up, Bill

I think the Bush presidency is a part of Bill Clinton's legacy -- nothing else explains how the incumbent party could lose an election at a time of such prosperity. As such, I think he has a responsibility TO this country to do whatever he can do to get a Democrat back in the White House -- even if it's not his wife. Of course it's Obama's job to win, but when I see Clinton acting worse than wishy-washy about him, seeming to go out of his way to praise McCain, I think he must intentionally be undermining his own party. Is it his ego? Is it some secret effort to torpedo Obama so Hillary can run in '12? I don't know. I just know he sucks, and he's further damaging his own legacy now by not fighting for his party, and by extension, for his country.

Phone bankers at Obama HQ are reporting conversations with women who are planning to write Hillary in on their ballots? If Bill could put his ego away and do what's in the best interest of the country right now, he could have an impact. I'm just sick about him right now.

Nothing worse than success

>>I think the Bush presidency is a part of Bill Clinton's legacy.

Bill Clinton did not have a majority of electoral or popular votes when he became president, in what was hardly a Democratic landslide. Despite the weak support for a Democrat in his first term he was re-elected and became the only two Term Democratic President since Eisenhower left office in 1961. He was re-elected with huge popular support (379 Electoral votes to 159) in an election that actually included all 50 states, and there has not been a clear winner in any presidential election since. Gore did not compare at all to Clinton, Kerry did not compare at all to Clinton, and Obama does not compare at all to Clinton.

America has just had the worst President in the last 100 years and for all practical purposes the polls show that the race is a tie. Yeah that Bill Clinton really sucks, doesn't he? There is nothing that the Democrats hate more than success.

Howard Dean did everything in his power to see that Obama was the candidate including disenfranchising two very important states in the primaries. Do you honestly expect Bill Clinton to just sit back and take it. Hillary knows that the Howard Dean DNC will never let her sit at the head of the table, now 2012, 2016 or ever. The party is extremely lucky that she is not doing another Lieberman.

Here's something to keep in mind. If the Clintons wanted to they could easily get McCain elected. And they could get a hell of a lot in return.
