The letters thread is now closed.

It's probably filled with advice.

On how to get the house, both cars, full custody of the meal tickets (I mean children) and 50% of his salary as alimony. Meanwhile, the former hubby revisits the McJob wages and studio apartment of his college days.

It's enough to make we want to start my own Facebook campaign: Pre-Nup Awareness for Potential Husbands. Feel free to join, fellas.

Friendly positive constructive

Do men have an infidelity gene?

Why are absentee fathers now the norm?

Early puberty linked to divorce

Kate Hudson may say that divorce is, like, totally awesome (probably because she was married to that straggly dude from The Black Crowes) but this friendly positive constructive networking site is scaring the shit out of me.

Absentee fathers are the norm

because many men have kids with their wives FOR their wives.

Many fathers never really wanted that role - they gave their spouses babies as gifts to make the latter happy.

I hope there's a similar site for men in the same situation

I don't frankly think the emotional pressure and self-esteem catastrophes are an appanage of divorcées; divorcés also get them.

I agree with Svutlana: this kind of sites makes me nervous. It reminds me of those sites for cheaters: how not to be caught. I suppose they're necessary; after all, there are problematic relationships that can only be solved by divorce. But, in some sense, such sites add to the bad spiritual vibes and karma that now seem to circle around newlyweds.

I wished life were simpler.

Whores and parasites have a Facebook site of their own

Whoop tee doo. Let the feminist mythologists and their ilk prosper and fluorish.

No sane man should marry in California.

Looking forward to the flurry of uber beta Herb and angry feminist bitch emails!

Hell

No man should get married anywhere in America. Enjoy your cats and hysterectomies, ladies. You made this bed, you sleep in it!

@ Parson Jim

You can always refuse to marry, PJ. That'll show those feminists. Just imagine what they'll be missing. Whoop-dee-doo indeed! :-)

Women needed something like this

I wish something like this had been around when my mother was going through her divorce. I remember those nights of pain and crying and I was the only person she could talk to at the time. It would have been great for her to have found a safe haven like www.firstwivesworld.com to go to.

I work for the company and I can honestly say this site was created to help those women who suddenly find themselves facing what is without a doubt one of the toughest times of their lives. Many of us that work for the site are children of divorce or have gone through divorce so we understand how much we are helping these women by connecting with each other.

All they want at a time like this is someone to listen and hopefully give some words of advise. The stories of these women will break your heart. They have delt with abuse like you would not believe, tied with depression and such amazing pain.

I get letters daily from women saying "thank you so much for creating a site like this." It helps to have people to talk to that are going through the exact same thing. That is why Social Networks work. You can find people you never would have in your normal everyday life.

Thanks for writing this article about us and spreading the word about our site. We hope we can help as many women out there as possible get through this hurtful time in their life and come out the other side stronger and happier in the end.

yippee! women really NEED something like this

A more efficient way for women to trade stories about how to screw the husbands out of the house, money and kids!

I am glad I am not marriage minded and moving away from that mindset.

GOD FORBID I consider marrying in America, where everything is turned against men.

I second the idea that there be strong web sites developed to teach men about pre-nups, to warn them about the myriad manipulations women engage in, and to give men some support in a world that has turned against the male.

I always laugh when I think to myself, seeing ALL the myriad women around me every day, and how many of them, if they have a boyfriend, are being strung along by guys these days who are so scared of the American man grinder called marriage that they refuse, flat out REFUSE, to even consider the possibility of marriage.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE!!!!

Let society sort out why men refuse to submit ANYMORE. We have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to save up our fortunes so we can get ALL THE cute hotties we want when we are doddering decades from now.
