I wonder what a graduate course in gender studies would look like in Iran?

What would the title be? "The inherent submission to Allah and your husband which is encoded in your too shameful to show hair?," or "Stoning, a community's right to rid the world of loose women, and a father's duty?"

Not that I'm a huge fan of women's studies in general, any more than I'd be a fan of "men's studies."

It just sounds stupid, sorry, and it's a pretty worthless degree unless you want to be a women's studies professor.

One of the problems with the head-to-toe covering of women whenever they are out of the house is that they have few opportunities to absorb vitamin D from sunshine. In sunny countries, like Iran, it takes 15 minutes or less with your face and forearms uncovered to get your daily dose.

Women who live where there are no enclosed backyards (Just about everyone who doesn't live in a villa with a high wall enclosing a large yard) don't get enough sun. A women's park sounds like a way to help women get sun without having to change the whole culture first.

So...where is the "tolerance" and "respect for other views" that feminists claim to honor? Why are they upset when other societies, ones thousands of years old, do things differently than America? What are crime rates in those countries compared to ours?

Might modestly-dressed women be showing respect to men (as opposed to mini-skirted corporateers who excite men, the better to frustrate them)?. Should men return the feminist favor, "hinting" that women might get free meals on dates, then sticking them with bills?

Feminists think men are inferior beings without feelings. Ergo, they have no "rules" for women to follow to show respect to guys. In fact, feminists think that the worse men are treated, the better.

What happens to countries with "liberated" women? Divorce soars, more and more men decline to marry, and "equality" becomes males getting saddled with ever-more restrictions while females stay children, responsible for nothing. "Backward" cultures continue to have and honor big families while modern "feminist" ones commit demographic suicide.

Will minority women seek divorce as frequently, knowing their "freedom" can't be subsidized by ill-paid divorced dads? What happens when men stop paying taxes to pay for children they can no longer see?

The same Taliban that makes men wear beards and forbids their listening to Western music? Oh yeah: Who cares if men suffer?

The Taliban are evil, right? Better to emulate Americans who invade and destroy other countries at will...often remotely, too, using airplanes and missiles so they don't have to see the effects of their dirty work up-close and personal. How brave, how enlightened WE are.

Three thousand of OURS die, so we kill a million of THEIRS (even if they weren't guilty). Think there won't be blow-back?

Acting like responsibility is no longer a shared thing. That women aren't good mothers, hard workers just the same as men, who fought for our right to work outside the kitchen and are doing it along with raising children....

There are widowed and single fathers that work and care for their children. But in this country their is a deficit of fathers that will take the stand of even being there for their children....even when the mother does what she can to involve him....

It's called deadbeat....you can't say that all women take their children away from their fathers....just like you can't say that fathers don't want to be with their children.

And like another poster said. It's like they are put in a zoo. Only that zoo is secluded from viewing. Men aren't allowed in. Have we yet to discuss the feelings of these men? They can't even see a womens skin for a countries "fear" that they will become like animals and hump every unmasked face they see. Sounds to me like its a distrust of both sides. Don't trust women because they are all scary tit holders, and don't trust men because they are stupid and relentless creatures.

You will never find equality anywhere...at anytime in any point in existence because trust is in your own race, religion, sex and age....and who ever is outside of that circle has to be wrong, right?
