I think prenups should be mandatory, actually.
I know this is easier said than done, and certainly financial circumstances can change dramatically over the course of years, but I think prenups make sense. Prenups are agreed upon while the couple is in love and hoping for the best... as opposed to divorce settlements, which are drawn out when the couple wants to rip each other's throats out. Prenups would save the legal system and the couple a lot of time and agony.
