Stupidity and Klintoon Kultwacks
"The people of Florida and Michigan didn't break any rules. They don't deserve to be puninshed for what the Republicans (with help from cooperating Dem leaders) in their states did to the electoral process. "
Look, dummy, everybody who is sensible (that leaves you and the other Insane Klintoon Kult Klowns out) knows what is going on. This involves SEATING at the convention for POLITICIANS. We have a bunch of politicians who want to go to the convention. That's all. Nothing else.
Morons like the Klintoon Posse wacks are just pushing this stupid non-issue. No single person who is not a politician has been disenfranchised. This has nothing to do with reality. It's just a stupid issue. That's why you are pimping it.

If you hate a powerful woman for characteristics that would not inspire the same level of hate for a man, you are being sexist
Whether you like it or not. Get it over it.
A lot of people hate Hillary not because she has a vagina or breasts, but because she is a ruthless, callous, brazen politician. Those are more okay to be if you are man than if you are a woman, in our society.
I'm not going to defend this point, as I am not going to defend that the earth rotates around the sun. Everyone who disputes it are people who know it's bad to be sexists, but who don't want to think of themselves as sexists, so they try to reason into ways to apply different standards to women than men without admitting to themselves that they are sexists.
It's like trying to find valid reasons for being racist. It's like trying to justify calling a black man "clean and articulate." It's like trying to claim that "Barack the Magic Negro," as a song, is not racist. it's like trying to say that we should discourage homosexuality because it causes the spread of STDs, without acknowledging that heterosexual sex also does that. Different standards for different folks. It's not defensible. The end.

she brought it on herself....
maybe the reason she was called all those ugly names is because she behaved so ugly in her campaign? and by this i mean her politics in ohio, texas, pennsylvania. this includes fear mongering, saying the republican candidate would make a better commander in chief than the leading democratic candidate, straight out lying, trying to push the press around, her campaigns secretive spreading of the obama-in-muslim outfit picture, her "as far as i know" regarding obama's relegion, and much much more.
if hillary cilnton is not the type of woman i want my daughter to grow up to be like. i'd rather she grow up to be nancy pelosi.

Why dislike a Clinton
It's easy enough to concede that coverage of Hillary has lapsed into the misogynistic, just as coverage of the Jerimiah Wright scandal has lapsed into expressions of presumptive, institutionalized racism.
That doesn't change the fact that Hillary, and Bill, are quite cold political calculators. Perhaps this is considered par for the course, for folks older than myself. I don't, however, like to/want to vote for a candidate that is more interested in the winning ideology than the right one. What have the Clintons done to make me loathe the idea of another eight years in the White House?
1) Bill's abandonment of the Welfare program.
2) Bill's advocacy of destructive deregulation/free trade policies
3) Hillary's Senatorial advocacy for an anti-flag burning amendment
4) Hillary's advocacy of music/video game censorship
5) Hillary's vote for the war and refusal to apologize
6) Hillary's vote branding Iranian forces as terrorists
7) Hillary's statements, from a 2006 speech, on my generation:
"We have a lot of kids who don’t know what work means. They think work is a four letter word… [Kids] think they’re entitled to go right to the top with a fifty-thousand or seventy-five-thousand dollar-a-year job when they’ve not done anything to earn their way up.” She declared that today’s youth exist in a culture that “argues against hard work” and puts “a premium on instant gratification.”
...This coming days after Hillary helped secure Chelsea a $150,000/year job
These are just a few reasons why I don't support a return to a Clinton White House.
The single most troubling thing for me, during this campaign, has been the assertion by women in the press and in my life who assert that I must be a misogynist because I don't support Hillary.
To say that a vote for Barack, or a criticism of Hillary, is a sign of misogyny is the equivalent of stating a vote against Jesse Jackson in '88 was a sign of racism. It's patently absurd and, to my mind, this mentality could be damaging for future female candidates.

"maybe the reason she was called all those ugly names is because she behaved so ugly in her campaign"
And that's not very ladylike, is it, Hillary?
It's a 10-minute timeout for you, young lady! Go to the timeout corner and think about what you've done and how you can be nicer, sweeter, less aggressive, less mean next time.
In other words, well, lady, if you're going to step out of line and be "ugly" like a man, don't be sad when everyone lays into you. Women who wear short skirts deserve to be groped.

@jebldmm
No compound sentences are required. I'll explain it clearly. 1) We need Florida and Michigan to win the general election 2) People in these states are angry because their votes are not counting 3) We need their votes.
This presumes that people in Florida and Michigan will be so annoyed at the results of political gaming that they will vote against their own best interests out of spite.
I do not think this is a compelling argument. I'm sure that some people will be stupid enough to do this, but I doubt that large numbers of people will vote this way.

Yet again...
...it seems the wonderful Salon Commenters haven't taken the time to actually read the articles referenced and are instead using this forum to air their tread worn, stale thoughts on the Clinton/Obama match up.
It is not like I don't already know what you people think about Clinton and Obama. Some of you seem to do nothing but post here ad nauseum, so it hard to miss your slant. I won't bother with listing handles, but you know who you are.
Why don't you take the time to read new material, reflect on it, and then if you think you have something to contribute based on this exposure, perhaps write something?
All three articles are worthy, but from all of the comments here - I only see one or two indicating they've been read!
