so much to respond to in your little post! But I'll pick two little gems:

    1. "The Simpsons," like the overwhelmingly vast majority of all sitcoms from all periods, is created and written by a man. I'm willing to bet good money Matt Groening is not some hen-pecked, frightened guy sitting in a closet writing scripts while his harridan wife beats him with a frying pan shouting "Make Homer dumber!" The idea of a sitcom where the man is "dumb" and the woman is "smart" is as old as television. (Watch "The Honeymooners". Was that a stealth campaign by the pre-women's lib feminists?) This scenario is actually proof of a patriarchal society (rather than a gynocracy) because a "comic premise", the basis on which all comedies rest, is an *inversion* *of* *perceived* *reality*. Men can be "dumb" on tv because they aren't a true reflection of "real life", but a funhouse mirror view.

    2. Single/divorced moms have "all the rights" but "no responsibilities."

The average American baby gets its diaper changed 10 times a day for the first months, adding up to some 1500 changes before its toilet trained. This same baby starts out life sleeping 18 hours a day - in 1 hour naps, separated by 1 hour intervals of feeding, crying, changing, and about 5 minutes of cooing (if you are lucky). Babies are all about a parent's responsibility for the first several years of their existence. Without a parent being responsible 24/7, round the clock, every day, babies die.

Yeah, those single moms have it so E.A.S.Y.

Well, Ladies of the Gynocracy, when shall we meet again, in scanty frilly lingerie, to do each others' hair have pillow fights, and plot yet more ways to make men miserable? I'll tell my stupid husband to watch the kids, and let him think he can see me naked when I get back. Friday night good?

  • Juliebird, I know its not PC, but could we invite George Clooney?

Last night I actually dreamed I purchased a royal blue satin teddy with pink roses and ruffles on the ass. While that isn't my usual style, I immediately diagnosed myself as having had an overdose of politics. I recently actually dreamed of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama meeting at a cheap motel without the knowledge of their spouses. That was awfull scary.

About the meeting: I'll bring an Ouija board and we can ask it who will be the next ... No! Stop! Nevermind. I will not think about politics. I will not think about politics. I will not think about politics.

(You are married, so I want George.)

  • And, of course, attempting to dismiss my opinion by applying the insult "suspiciously feminine"

What is meant by suspicious is that I am(was) suspicious that you are actually male, otherwise it would be easier for you to understand my point. You might have been a female posing as a male. That is all I meant. I believe you are male although I think the indoctrination question is still open. Someone said "sincerity is everything, when you can fake that you've got it made" and it's much easier to fake it well if you can actually make yourself believe it. Since mens job is to appeal to women they really believe it.

  • I'll tell my stupid husband to watch the kids, and let him think he can see me naked when I get back.

This happens A LOT. Not to me but it is VERY COMMON.

  • Get Real Ladies

Show me a woman who has never used sex to manipulate a man and I'll show you a woman who has zero sexual power....or is a liar. Let's not confuse misogyny with reality.

  • WHEN WE RULE THE WORLD,

since W has already usurped all the really important Constitutional rights, let's create a prison in some obscure country where we can illegally imprison, and then torturen daily, guys like Rudov, Neil Convuluted, and the rest of the ass clowns that these corporate pigs are paying big bucks to disrepect us day in, and day out.

  • @aka smith

Actually, Clooney is on my "list", but I'm open to sharing!

  • @ meeneecat

I went to Brown, studied some semiotics, and I sure did get an earful of power-structures and hegemonies and racism and sexism and all kinda stuff like that.

But I have a question maybe you'll answer for me...

I understand full-well the perspective that "racism" or "sexism" are both constructs which depend on a dominant power-structure, just so you know I'm not totally ignorant of your argument.

So the question, finally, is a comparison between a few situations:

When a man says to a boy, "You throw like a girl!" Is that sexist?

When a woman says to a girl, "You're dressed like a tramp!" Is that sexist?

When a woman says to a boy, "Stop your sniveling and man up!" Is that sexist?

Just curious what your answer would be. I'm apt to label all three circumstances as "sexist," despite the fact that the last one is used to subjugate the male to the female's power.

    Is this wrong? How so?

  • Oh, BTW

The original post sucked. I truly can't even figure out what the author is attempting to communicate.

I get the impression that this is an effort to call attention to the fact that there's a lot of ignorant, sexist bullshit on Fox radio.

I don't listen to Fox radio much, so if that WAS the point, well...thanks for the heads-up.
