Randi Rhodes
First the came for Michael Savage, but I was not a savage, so I did nothing. Then they came for Rush Limbaugh, but I was not in a hurry so I did nothing. Then they came for Shuster, but I am not a pimp, so I did nothing. Then they came for Chirs Matthews, but I do slobber and fawn, so I did nothing. Then they came for me...

Was she wrong?
Is there any difference between a politician and a whore?
-
wow
Complaining about vitriol from Obama supports as if there isn't plenty coming from Clinton's side--read the letters section of Salon much? It gets ugly and both parties should hang their heads. Where were you when Rhodes was fantasizing about doing Bush in?
-
Randi Rhodes is the worst.
I have never liked Randi Rhodes and cannot understand why she continues to be called the "Goddess of talk radio." She is rude, uninformed, and intolerant. I've often thought of her as our (liberals) version of Michael Savage.
Good riddance.
If only Air America would send Lionel packing, too. We need more Rachel Maddow, and much more Sam Sedar.

Sure
There's a bunch of attack dogs on both sides.....But of course the Clinton side isn't the one claiming to be the new spirit of unity and oneness.

boo Freakin hoo
That mean old lady called someone a mean old name.
And there's a comedy about a fictional character (whom one presumes we are induced to hate in the film,or for the sake of irony perhaps not) that says mean things about the fictional character. You know I hear the three words that describe the Grinch best are Stink, Stank, Stunk.
You know...People have been calling both Clintons whores for years. The term whore is used nonsexually regularly in this day and age in the same way that pimp is used in a nonsexual way.
No one is suggesting that Senator Clinton, Ms. Ferraro, or young Chealsea are turning tricks out there. But like many politicians criticism that they have sold their idealism for profit is a fair acusation. That colorful language is used is hardly new, or troubling.
Americans have a corse culture, and having an attack of the vapors when someone insults you in is not particularly a good way to get that corse American society to take you seriously as a world leader.
Corse culture comes from not having a ruling elite to keep the masses well behaved through shame, I think that's a good thing.

Good riddance
She's rude, talking over her guests over and over and over. Her thoughts are rarely fully formed. Her callers don't dare disagree with her (Rush Rhodes?) And she gets prime drive time?
Right after her in my market is the amazing, funny, thoughtful, appropriately biting Rachel Maddow. She should be in the Rhodes slot. She's much smarter, much more interesting, and much more respectful of her guests.

Once again, political speech against the Clintons gets censored.
Remember when it was Chelsea that was "protected" by the Clinton campaign strong-arming Shuster's suspension? Shuster had tangentially implied that Chelsea was a whore by saying that the Clintons were pimping her out.
Back then the line from Clinton apologists was that it wasn't fair to go after the candidate's daughter, with the implication that the candidate is fair game.
Now a woman calls Clinton a whore in a standup routine and gets censored from her day job.
Look, I find the language a bit extreme, but male politicians, male journalists, and male lobbyists have been called whores since the dawn of the oldest profession.
I am far more troubled by the Clintons race-baiting than some journalists speech.

Ransom, are you opposed to representational democracy?
You ask, "Is there any difference between a politician and a whore?"
The differences are manifest to anyone who believes in representational democracy, and there are many good politicians who work hard outside of the limelight. Running government is often tedious and thankless, but vitally important nonetheless.
However, if you do not believe in a representational democracy and prefer dictatorship or anarchy, then keep slamming people who choose to become politicians. Such people are already subject to the most intrusive and disgusting critiques of their lives by tabloid media and gasbag pundits, and it's amazing to me that any decent person still wants to run for the job; in fact, many have been driven away by attitudes such as yours. Keep it up, and all we will be left with are the whores.

Right
See, the thing is: a ‘wingnut’ would never, ever use those terms. Nevertheless, I’m sure Left-wingnuts would have no problem opining that, “what he said was just a ‘code word’ for whore. He might’ve just as well called her a whore!” It’s always amusing to how much Liberals need to lie to get their points across – accusing the other side of using code words is one of their favorites.

what was the context?
I saw the video clip, and while I'm not thrilled about her word choices, I'm not sure I understand the suspension. Where was Randi Rhodes, and what was her role there? Was she representing Air America, the Randi Rhodes Show, or simply herself?
*If she were broadcasting, and speaking as the show's host, then I think the suspension is on target.
*If she were at an Air-America event (not a live broadcast, but a "meet the personalities of Air America)-type thing, then, I can understand the suspension.
*If she were on a news program, presenting this as political commentary, then I agree with the suspension.
But, the video looked like she was doing stand-up comedy. In that kind of context, I think she's allowed a little more freedom of expression. Jon Stewart can call Dick Cheney ... a dick. Stephanie Miller can call people a Lying Sack of Crap.
Randi, if she wants to do stand-up, can call HRC a whore. But if Randi calls HRC a whore and claims this is political analysis or journalism, then she should be suspended.

@durianjoe Politicians aren't called whores because they serve the people
They're called whores when they serve those with money instead of voters.

Air America Lost Me...
...when they let Marc Maron go and broke up the Maddow/Winstead/Chuck D show. Al Franken's departure was a shame, too.
