  • I do not respect most men's rights organizations

and even if I did, I am not a joiner or a follower.

I am an iconoclast and a boat rocker and an idea generator. I do not fit in with a bunch of namby pamby men who feel they are supposed to hug each other in forests or stadiums and chastise themselves for having penises.

    I am the next gen.

Indeed I would be surprised if the feminists or their sympathizers or CIA handlers have not already infiltrated most of the men's rights organizations in order to destroy them from within. As the CIA has been instrumental in funding Gloria Steinem and other rain makers and that effort these past three decades has been SO successful at destroying the integrity of the American family, they will continue to plow that field some more.

Men's rights are considered suspect in DC, since it means men are awake and therefore the power structure is failing at command and control. Better that I be an at-large guerilla as long as possible.

  • Re: Spousal Rape

I think it is a useful distinction, and I would argue that, in fact, spousal rape is worse than stranger rape; because it betrays a trust. A spouse is not supposed to hurt you, and therefore when they do it's more painful than a random stranger doing so.

That's why I think the term is useful.

  • are you saying that being forced to have sex with a guy you've fucked a thousand times varies only slightly

from being dragged into the bushes by a psycho?

  • @Dick

All else being equal, which do you think would affect you more: having a total stranger stab a knife into your gut, or having someone you love and trust stab a knife into your gut?

This letters thread is like something out of The Twilight Zone.

  • OK, now I know you're just pretending

The CIA is funding Gloria Steinem!?!?!?! Clearly you are just pretending to be crazy for laughs. Nobody seriously believes that.

I agree that having someone you know and trust hurt you physically and emotionally is probably even worse, in terms of the trust betrayed, than being the victim of a stranger.

  • What feminists have already done for brightstar.

Why do you think it took feminists to write men and young boys into the rape laws in the first place? Why do you think the men who originally created the laws didn't do this?

Now, if a young boy is raped, it is actually an actionable crime.

Go ahead, you can say thanks.

  • Look up her Wikipedia Article

The CIA is funding Gloria Steinem!?!?!?! Clearly you are just pretending to be crazy for laughs. Nobody seriously believes that.

Steinem has clearly had connections to the CIA, questions which persist to the present day.

  • Brightstar, I know of people who worked for the CIA

They weren't spooks, they were office workers or lawyers. They moved on to other jobs. Surely just because they once worked for the CIA, or in Ms. Steinem's case, a CIA-funded organzation (which one, and was it devoted to something dastardly, like encouraging democracy in the Soviet Union?).

Your evidence is that an early feminist group, the Redstockings, "raised a question" in 1975, when Ms. Steinem was 29, as to whether she still had connections to the CIA. I could just as easily "raise the question" as to whether you are actually a latter day member of SCUM, but where's my evidence beyond the mere assertion?

Anger and paranoia are not good things to wallow in.

Surely just because they once worked for the CIA, or in Ms. Steinem's case, a CIA-funded organzation (which one, and was it devoted to something dastardly, like encouraging democracy in the Soviet Union?), doesn't provide any evidence that years later they are somehow still secretly ties to that very large bureaucracy.

  • What gets me ...

    is the following:

"The feminazis argue, of course, that guilty men are getting off, but the truth is that a sniffling, doe-eyed lying woman in the witness box is more likely to win the hearts and minds of a jury than an innocent but big burly bloke in the dock. "

I think the word "feminazis" and the Evil Female Snake reference say it all, don't they? These are the thoughts of a man who's been masturbating under a rock for the past, oh, 100 years, and who doesn't understand that "no" means "no." In which case, his election (or nomination) to public office speaks volumes about the electorate.

  • Who is more psycho?

Are you saying that being forced to have sex with a guy you've fucked a thousand times varies only slightly from being dragged into the bushes by a psycho?

Actually a guy who has had sex with a woman a thousand times but forces her to do it the one-thousand-and-first time IS probably more psycho than the stranger hiding in the bushes.

The trouble is that marital rape tends to occur within the context of abusive, violent marriages. It is not just something that occurs in a vacuum. Usually these wife-beating husbands are pathetically inadequate individuals for whom the only thing in life that makes them feel powerful is dominating their domestic partner, so these marital rapes ARE most likely the result of men trying to assert control over women.

There probably do need to be legal degrees of rape, like the different degrees of murder, ranging from manslaughter to a death penalty offense.

  • *sigh*

I must agree with the majority of posters here. Tracy, if you're going to write posts on the doings of overseas political figures, it would behoove you to get informed about just who you're commenting on. Waving your arms and getting huffy about what a member of the BNP says is like getting upset that ... well, that the Klan is racist, like so many here have pointed out. It's a given that these people are going to say this crap - that's why they're marginal nutcases that intelligent people don't take seriously.

Really, we'd just gotten comfortable with the disappearance of Ann Coulter from these pages. Must we now be subjected to the ridiculous spewings of her foreign equivalents? Leave the loonies to diddle in the dark by themselves I'm sure they don't need our help.
