Bitches Get it Done? Fey's 'Bitch' just lost 11 states in a row!

A team loses 11 times in a row and tells you they're clinching the title? And you believe it? Get with the math, ladies!

$120 Million raised, 11 losses in a row. That's getting things done? That's a return on your time and money and nerves? 11 Losses?

In Hillary: Where is the class you'd expect in a President? Presidency: the role for the people who make up backbone of our nation's history?

In clinton world, white is black, right is left, and "is"... Mr. Cheating Bill Clinton, "depends on what the meaning of 'is' is?"

Finally: You really think this word 'Bitch', is right? Is the word 'N1gg3r' right? Despite it's promotion by our entertainers?

You want your daughter to say that B word?

This Tina Fey video is the worst, bought and paid for PR stunt ever.

Tina Fey don't work for free. That $120 Mil raised didn't go to staffers, ladies, it went to Fey's new NYC apartment. That primetime slot is for sale just like everything else. It's a Business, ladies.

Hillary: Every Advantage, no results. Nothing done. First Lady, Junior Senator: Nothing but losses (oh. sorry. 'Wins', right?)... and sadly, now... to succeed, Clinton's friends just told your daughters and nieces that they should be 'bitches'... pregnant dogs.

Nice. That's the 'new black', the new backbone of America: Bitches.

So conflicted

I'm a big Obama supporter. I also have a huge schoolboy crush on Tina Fey (since college, actually). The biggest problem I have with this SNL bit is the inner conflict it causes me. I just can't love her like I did before.

On another note, I'm not a Hillary hater. In fact, I do think that the media has, on the whole, not been very fair to her over the entirety of this campaign. You know who does hate her though? My girlfriend. Some of the most ignorant Hillary-hating jargon has spewed from her pretty little mouth. She often complains that Hillary is a bitch, which I think is kind of groundless, but she sees it as a negative. The "Clinton as cast-iron bitch" angle may not help the campaign, as it has not helped my daydreams of Tina.

On a final, more personal note, lots of girls and later women have been mean or bitchy to me, and I never really viewed it in a positive way. Just as I don't particularly fancy asshole guys either. I think the dove/hawk approach is a false binary, and particularly one we should avoid in the realm of government.

It was an endorsment. Watch the news!

I loved it! You people are going to read what you want out of it to favor your opinion. The show was rated #1. Obama also has many negatives you just don't hear about it as much because of the bias media. His free ride will be over soon and it will be too late. I know people who will not support him in the general once McCain moves over to the middle.

B**tch do get stuff done!!!

Tina Fey's not making an endorsement

She's making a joke. She's not a journalist doing analysis. She's a comedian. Don't take it so seriously! (good points earlier, Juliebird)

You do have to be a bitch to get things done

I was an Army officer, and this is true to my experience. But by "bitch," I mean, a woman who is more concerned with getting the job done than being liked. My goal as a platoon leader was for my troops to look at me and say, "Man, I hate that angry bitch...but I'll do what she says, because I know she's just working to keep me alive in combat."

That's exactly the opposite of what Hillary is. When the Iraq vote came up for a vote, I would have very much liked her to be a total bitch.

And you can run a campaign as an unlikeable person--it worked for Nixon. His theme was, "I know you don't like me...but you need me." People bought it.

The thing is, being an angry bitch won't make you liked, but it can win you respect.

@that username is already in use

that username is already in use: "How could this be racist? Do you not realize that the phrase "the new black" is a reference to fashion?"

Under the circumstances, the confusion is very understandable, don't you think?

Editorializing on behalf of your favorite candidate is not comedy

Tina Fey's bit was not funny for the same reason the Dennis Miller ceased being funny: Once you sell out to a specific candidate you are no longer a comedian, you are a pundit.

And there's little denying that Tina Fey's bit was an attempt at a comedy-show equivalent of an endorsement. It made me lose respect for Tina Fey (whom I definitely dug before) and feel vindicated in having ignored SNL for the past several years.

Furthermore, I haven't seen many people refer to Hillary Clinton as a "bitch" lately. Maybe I am not listening to the callers on right-wing talk radio, but among the progressive/liberal people I know and the programs I enjoy, I have never heard anybody speak about Hillary in such sexist terms. Most people I know respect Hillary at a base level, at least, even if they don't all like her politically.

So what was Tina Fey responding to? Her imagined average Texan voter?

I also don't think "she's a bitch and bitches get things done" is a very good argument for voting for Clinton. It would be like if you said "Obama is a dick, and dicks get things done! Remember your overbearing science teacher who was a dick? I'll bet by the end of class you knew the periodic table!"

That argument doesn't work for me either.

Please, Tina Fey, leave the political endorsements to politicians, or at least, leave them out of comedy shows. Because guess what? For Obama supporters who witnessed you calling on Texas and Ohio to oppose their candidate, that shit ain't funny.

Brilliant. Tina Fey should host the Oscars.

One of the best comedy pieces I've seen in years. Up there with the "Bass-o-matic". But on this eve of the Texas/Ohio showdown, I'd like to urge Senator Clinton to be (God forgive me for paraphrasing Roger Ailes, the message.

Senator Obama is connecting with the people by being his message. In a nutshell, if I can do it, so can you. His "Yes we can" slogan is perfect for all he represents. He is the benchwarmer quarterback who rises to greatness when put into the big game.

Senator Clinton is the validictorian. The smart girl who screwed up the bell curve for the rest of us. But she, and the women in my life, are denying the obvious and not embracing the real message she is. If she had not married Bill Clinton she would not be where she is today. She's smart, but doesn't have that let's "win one for the Gipper" personality that ruined W's life.

Bill Clinton got lucky (thanks to another nutty Texan, Mr. Perot) and got elected. He took an economy in crisis and eight years later left with a projected surplus. And yes, Hillary was there, and yes she learned a lot, and yes, she will hit the ground running. But in absence of Bill's charisma, she needs to simply be charming and promise to be the president Bill Clinton almost was. That's what we want too.

Hillary for 8 years and Vice-President Obama for the next eight years. Just think of the Supreme Court we could have 16 years from now if we democrats vote in our own self interest for a change. As for Bill..she should make him Ambassador to Isreal where his portfolio is to teach policy formation to all the leaders of all the Mid-East countries...and not come home until he can talk Osama Bin Laden into surrendering. He owes us that much.

P.S. Tina. I don't think women should try to own the tag "bitch" any more than I think black people should try to own the word "nigger". Decades after Dick Gregory and Richard Pryor tried to defuse its power, the natural uncomfortable reaction to my using that word here demonstrates that we must all let it go.

Peace on Earth.
