I am guessing you are a Kucinich reporter, since he had a long career, was of the right race, and gender (in a country that has a right race and gender) and was clearly the best choice.
By your logic, any way, the democrats never had a chance.
Edwards is the right race and gender but has less experience than the resume light Clinton and Obama.
Richards had the resume but again, wrong race.
At the moment I beleive there are two choices left in the Democratic campaign. A woman with very little actual experience in elected office and an African American man with much more experience in elected office.
As to ties to shady business dealings...well...let's be nice and call that a draw.
They are going against McCain in the general election, a centrist with a proven track record at pulling independents, and a very clean money trail. The last thing the Democrats need is a polarizing long term political insider with a history of "unique" funding schemes.
