there is no way at this point to know if obama really is drawing independents who actually know he is a democrat
or whether his independent support is really all or nearly all republicans gaming the system and people who are reading what they want to on what is, at least to them, a blank page. In other words what may happen is: if obama is the nominee the republicans, when it comes time to make a decision, will all go back to their corner and some people who say they now support him will be turned by winger propaganda (unlike Clinton about whom there is nothing new the right can say so anyone who is willing to support her now isn't going to change their mind.) It may be true that obama can overcome this, but since the republican media has maintained a total blackout of critical coverage of obama (why would they do that?) there is no way to know.
