@ Malthust
You said: How is it that Clinton supporter can meta-textualize every statement made about their candidate for sexism, but fail to recognize that the Bill Clinton legacy they are running on includes blatant misogyny put into physical practice? If I told you my boss had a history inappropriate relationships with subordinates, including interns- as a feminist, you would rightly be outraged.
Why do you let Bill slide?
Senator Clinton supporter here. The answer to your last posed question is that Bill is not Hillary. Hillary is running for president and Bill is not. Is he entitled to give speeches for her and offer her his support just as every other candidate's spouse does? Sure he is, but that does not mean that he will be president. Hillary Clinton will be president.
Actually, do you think it is fair that women are always blamed for the bad behavior of their husbands? If so, why? Do you then blame men for the bad behavior of their wives? If so, why? Why can you not conceive that people's personal lives and choices are a thing apart from their political ability? Bill Clinton is an ass in many ways, but more than any other person he as proved that a man may be an ass in his personal life but competent politically and as a leader. To me, the fact that you do not want to grant Hillary the right to her very flawed husband and also the right to pursue her own goals says something clear about you -- that you hold women to a harsher standard than you do men.
Also, other presidents have been similar asses. JFK, Eisenhower, FDR. Many leaders have failed to be faithful husbands. Was MLK a faithful husband?
This sort of I-am-a-better-feminist-than-thou stuff based upon whom women support for president is utterly silly.
