Don't forget that Hillary has said repeatedly that her healthcare plan will provide help for people who simply cannot afford to purchase it. Ideally, everyone will pay something except for those on Medicaid, which continues to provide help for the disabled poor. Medicare also provides for the the disabled as it does for the elderly. The is S-CHIP for poor families with dependant children.
It seems to me that Hillary Clinton could do a better job of explaining to people that ability to pay will have a great deal to do with what people are charged.
It puzzles me that Obama supporters do not understand that Obama's plan also includes a sort of mandate for those who will run into glass doors at parties, be rear-ended on the freeway, or have a nervous breakdown at exam time. When one shows up at the hosipital one will realize that -- whatever one's emergency -- one will be charged for premiums not paid because one did not choose to have insurance. How he can claim that this is some sort of universal coverage is beyond me.
