Truth and the Big Picture
How we are ever going to make things better if people can't see beyond their narrow mindset "boxes"?
Why do people misunderstand each other so much more easily than they understand each other?
Why do people attack each other so easily?
Why are people so hypocritical?
This is what I think is most important in regard to this quote and these issues:
I am not sure how intentional Barack's comments were, but he doesn't seem to treat her with the respect he would treat a male "opponent."
I support Hillary because she is the most qualified candidate, I would support her if she was black and male and the most qualified candidate, while the other candidate was an under-experienced younger white woman.
I do think Hillary's whole career and reputation has been negatively and wrongly affected by sexism - that is just a truth and reality. People criticize her in ways they would never criticize a man. They treat her with a disrespect that they wouldn't use on men.
Is that why I'm supporting her? No.
It's because she's the most qualified.
The reason why Barack won't debate her is because she is more knowledgeable and it shows in the debates. Most people who aren't biased, or focused on only one issue - agree that she excels in the debates.
Debates - where candidates have to think on their feet - where they don't have the luxury of speeches that are written for them, or the luxury of the time it takes to write a book - that is where you find out what the candidates themselves really have to offer in terms of knowledge, experience, competency in governing.
Obama does need speeches and he does need handlers, because he is inexperienced, and he doesn't really know what he's doing. He said in his 60 Minutes interview that he had to think about his candidacy and would he be able to 'pull it off'. That's what I've been picking up on all along that I don't like - he's not really qualified - he is trying to 'pull this off.' That is not what we need right now.
