Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day is about women's rights
It may be a lame Hallmark holiday, but Feb. 14 is still a time when the fissures in gender relations get exposed in uncomfortable ways.

  • they're against Valentine's Day in INDIA?

    I have a feeling this has more to do with trying to stem the (enormous) tide of Western commercialism than with something against tributes to romantic love.

    Every single Bollywood picture I've heard of or seen (and a college roommate was VERY into them) is a big-budget, cheesy, old-fashioned musical love story. Even in the land of arranged marriages.
