    I'm very sorry to hear about the friend's cousin and the diabetic kids who died because their parents would not allow them medical treatment. That is child abuse, plain and simple.

    But a headscarf will not hurt anyone. If the father beats his daughter for refusing to wear it, that is child abuse. If he nags her and yells "You're not going out dressed like that" when she tries to sneak out without it, that is not.

    We have to let common sense prevail.
