Wow, TCF
Another disingenuous pseudo-argument that conveniently ignores any proof of your foregone conclusion.
Feminists are always touting some benefit of females over males (more empathy, less proclivity for war, etc.), and female leaders over male leaders. No one ever cites any evidence for this perceived female superiority, though. They are always also insisting on more female Congressmen, business leaders, etc., with nary a mention of qualifications.
Oh, and never a peep about (any) female combat infantry, female garbage collectors, etc. Oh well.
"Equality" is something that is pretty elastic when defined by a bigot, regardless of his or her gender.
-
Oh, look
The "White House Project".
http://www.thewhitehouseproject.org/about/mission/
A group that "...aims to advance women’s leadership in all communities and sectors, up to the U.S. presidency."
No mention of qualifications here.
Oh, and the members of the Board of Directors can be seen here:
http://www.thewhitehouseproject.org/about/supporters/
Like those of most feminist organizations, this board consists of all women. Not a man to be found.
So much for equality.

It's the old "Projection" thing again
Molly Ivins (and many others) have observed that the right wing is always accusing Democrats of doing things that they, the wingnuts, are doing. Whether it's sexual acts disapproved of by the Southern Baptist Convention, campaign finance violations, character assassination, treason, or whatever - if Republicans are doing it, they accuse Democrats.
Okay - so we've had "Tweety" Chris Matthews, "Tucker" Carlson and their ilk literally clutching their testicles at the mention of Senator Clinton getting the Democratic nomination. We've had the half-vast rightwing conspiracy putting out the meme throughout all the media that "Hillary" is "playing the gender card" and demanding special treatment because she's a woman.
In short, the right wing noise machine is doing everything it can think of to dissuade its manly men base that nobody should vote for Senator Clinton, because she's a woman.
Time for the projection phase - accuse women of wanting to vote for "Hillary" just because she's a woman.
It's business as usual for the right wing, and somehow the American public never tires of it, much less sees through it.
Nothing to see here - move along.

Anyone remember...
...Carol Moseley Braun? Anyone?
Why does Hillary get the "glass ceiling breaker" crown when a black woman ran for president years before she did?
Why didn't women back Ms. Braun a few years ago? Why do people suddenly notice a woman is running for president only now that it's Hillary Clinton?
-
@zandru
I guess when your a left wingnut, everybody looks like they're part of the right wing.
-
Not a new occurrence
Victoria Woodhull was the first woman to run for President as a candidate for the Equal Rights Party in the 1872 election.
-
Hillary Clinton, the "First"
Why do people suddenly notice a woman is running for president only now that it's Hillary Clinton?
For the same reason they notice "Black Candidate" Obama now--the candidate actually has a chance of winning the presidency. Hillary Clinton has the funding and political machine to survive a grueling campaign process. In fact, she's viewed as the establishment candidate and the frontrunner. This is not to discount the trailblazing of women like Carol Moseley Braun.
Oh, and Parson Jim, you're absolutely correct. Feminists want women to be political and business leaders even if they have the qualifications of patio furniture. Feel better? Silly me, I thought the "qualified" stipulation was implied. When women are just over half of the population but still minorities in positions of power, something is very wrong.

Carol Mosely-Braun and Your Media
kickstarts asks "Why do people suddenly notice a woman is running for president only now that it's Hillary Clinton?"
Maybe because she's running as a candidate of one of the two "major parties." And I think you're wrong about "nobody" noticing. The (vast right wing) media "didn't notice", much as they don't notice Dennis Kucinich today (a white man; you'd think he'd be one of the favored ones, eh?) But Ms. Mosely-Braun was definitely noticed on the left.
Okay, let me digress - I don't respond to "Anonymous Cowards."
-
to Parson Jim...
It's a dirty job...and females are doing it alongside the men--the new company New Orleans hired to clean up garbage in the French Quarter has a bunch of female garbage collectors.
They do a good job too--though I think it has more to do with this company's making employees actually pick up the garbage on schedule than with the sex of its collectors.

TCF did just fine
I'm glad to see that the argument regarding Hilary is moving away from gender and into qualifications. Feminists have told me that they would vote for a woman candidate just to back a sister up. Over the past months, I've seen that position thaw.
As for parson jim's args. We already have garbage women and women in combat. We don't have female infantry (yet). Women have been pushing themselves toward the front lines for over a generation. Ever meet a woman fighter pilot? I have.
Then there's zandru, sigh, spouting:
In short, the right wing noise machine is doing everything it can think of to dissuade its manly men base that nobody should vote for Senator Clinton, because she's a woman.
BS. As a conservative, I receive the mailings, voice mails, canvassing, and other crap from the right wing noise machine. Hillary has so much baggage that her gender isn't really an issue. Hint: the right wing manly man base thinks Hillary has more drive, determination, and strength than any liberal male. If she were further right on just a few issues, she'd be a fantastic republican candidate.

First woman president
I don't know whether anyone has wanted to put the idea on the record, but there are plenty of women I've spoken to who think that merely possessing ovaries makes one more compassionate and attentive to the things that really matter. When I point out that Hillary has supported war at every possible opportunity and hobnobs with the same elitist corporate scumbags as everyone else, they just get angry at me.
But I'll say it again for anyone who wants to hear: Even if the average woman has more of these good qualities than the average man, you aren't electing the average woman or man. You're electing a *particular* woman or man. As such, you still need to evaluate them as individuals.
Oh, and some of you may be aware that British English is sometimes different from American English. For example, in England, Hillary Clinton is pronounced "Margaret Thatcher."
