I guess dear Tracy, that these Polish politicians are just not as empowerfool as you are. They probably have no idea of the oppression that women go through. They probably have never heard of the wage gap, or the class ceiling. They have probably no idea of the sexual harassment that all women must endure every day. In Poland, I have no doubt that 1 out of 4 women are not being raped or otherwise the victims of sexual assault. Not now, and not under the communists.
What Tracy can you expect from a group of privileged upperclass white? Did you expect them to take their bodies or women's issues as seriously as you?
I'm dying to know what you are wearing today Tracy.... Simple smock with a neckline that reveals nothing, or something that shows even a hint of flesh or cleavage?
If the latter, how dare you? Don't you realize that makes you as silly as Jessica Valenti or Hillary Clinton?

It seems to me that the code here is simpler than Tracy Clark-Flory might realize. "Uncommunicative" obviously means "not naked enough."
Seriously, nobody batted an eyelash when Le Pen used to run around at nude beaches — in fact people admired his (metaphorical) balls. Bush fils is well known for his bedenimed ass-shots during brush-clearing season, and people still pay good green money for those goofball posters of him painted with bare, muscular forearms.

And ogling isn't just for fascists, either. How many firemen, nurses, secretaries, librarians, and local politicians have appeared in fundraising pinup calendars in the past few years all across America?
So now we have discreetly nude Eastern European centrist feminists? What's not to like?

I think someone posted about this under another topic, but I'm going to reiterate it.
What is with all the nudity anyway? Why use nudity to get your point across? Maybe when PETA first started doing it it still had some shock value, but now the whole concept just seems old and tired.
That, and no one looks at a naked woman (or man, for that matter) and thinks "Gee, I bet they'd make a really good leader." At least I don't.

Nudity is sex and sex sells. These women are trying to manipulate the voting males to vote for them through sexual innuendo and women through their message.
How can women expect to be taken seriously if they resort to sex to get elected? Are they that incompetent or intellectually weak? The idea is to NOT be a sex object to men but rather to be taken seriously as humans.

Salt Lake Tribune - Pleasant Grove High streaker could face jail time
PLEASANT GROVE - A Pleasant Grove teen might face jail time after streaking during the Pleasant Grove High School homecoming pageant.
An 18-year-old student at Pleasant Grove High school is drawing attention from police for running across the stage nude in the school's auditorium.
The teen's name is not being released until an arrest has been made. The man will be charged with lewdness in the presence of a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
Police the charge of lewdness in the presence of a minor stems from the fact that many young children were present in the audience of roughly 800 people.
If the teen is convicted, it is possible he will have to register as a sex offender because he is an adult.
Thank you Broadsheet Feminists(TM). You are so quick to become offended by other people' bodies, unless that person is on a Southwest Airlines Flight.
I agree with Tracy Clark-Flory, these female politicians should be forced to register as sex offenders. Who knows who was exposed to their billboard?

Women's Party???
How come we don't have a women's party in America?
How popular is the women's party in Poland?
The gimmick provided by the Women's Party of Poland, doesn't bother me, as long as the women of Poland give the Women's Party sufficient support.
I have often argued that women should take control over the multi-billion dollar porn/erotica industry, as the industry would not survive without them (and if men were eliminated from the industry, sales would probably go up), and then use the industry as a political tool to promote women's issues (that's kind of what Larry Flynt is trying to do). If the Women's Party of Poland had sufficient support, then the women on the poster may have done something very clever.

I dislike the idea of a Women's Party
And I would dislike the idea of any party devoted to a narrow special interest group or a specific demographic segment of the population. What's next? A men's party that feels justified in completely ignoring women's issues? (Insert dumb, obvious joke here about how that's what we already have! Har har! Snort snort!) A Gay party? A Lesbian party? A Black party? A Latino party? A Chinese-American party? A Catholic party? A Jewish party? A Spanish language party? And on and on...ad nauseam.
That's a recipe for the worst sort of factional, squabbling parliamentary politics and cumbersome, ineffectual coalition building games. Those familiar with Italian and Israeli politics will know what I mean.
To me, political parties should be broad and appeal to wide demographics, and should be based on policies and ideas, not on innate physical characteristics and/or cultural groupings. But then I guess I'm just old-fashioned.
