Alcohol and Date rape
Yeah Silenced, so many of my female friends have been date raped (and a few of my male friends have been sodomized without consent), after an evening of heavy drinking, which is another reason why I hardly ever drink (I'll occasionally have a drink or 2 with coworkers on special occasions). I also recommend that women/girls never drink on the first date, and never drink with a man that they don't fully trust. The best way to be taken advantage of is to get intoxicated with someone who is untrustworthy. And the date rape pill can be slipped really easily into a glass of alcohol.

if a drunk woman can't give consent, can a drunk man? I understand that you think drunk people shouldn't have sex. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it. But surely you understand that not all people share that point of view. I'm sure you understand that people do get drunk and have sex. Therefore, please let us know; if the woman is drunk and the man is not, has he committed rape in your book all other things being equal? If the woman is drunk and the man is not, has she committed rape, all other things being equal? And if they're both drunk are they both rapists and victims of rape? I'll be interested in your answers.

To Blackpaw and anonymous (whom I suspect are the same person)
I work in a counseling center for sexual assault victims, so of course I know a lot about how sexual predators like you guys operate. Women like your victims cry on my shoulder all the time.
First guys like you offer your victims a drink, then you slip a pill (I won't list the drug names) into her drink (or he in some cases) when she (or he) is not looking. The woman (or man) drinks the spiked drink, she (or he) thinks only that the alcohol was just really strong, and the next thing she (or he) remembers is waking up next to your ugly face in the morning.
We have all heard the story before. It's happens a lot, and it time we put a stop to it. If you see a guy giving a woman/girl at a bar too many drinks, report the punk to the authorities immediately. We need to stop guys like Blackpaw and anonymous (who calls my fetby), because it's guys like them that make the rest of us decent men look bad.

I'm not being antagonistic, but I'm very curious. I can't imagine I would have been able to even comprehend that subject matter at age seven.

I don't think Fetboy is for real.
It's not clear from anything that Fetboy wrote that he is anyting other than a basement dweller. It is perhaps the case that he is a 35 year old virgin.
Very doubtful that he has had these conversations with his seven year old.
Very doubtful that so many of his friends male and female have been raped.

If I believed he was a reasonable human being I'd be highly offended by his rambling charges of rape, as it is he is to be pitied, and ignored.
I particularly like the way his examples have progressed from drinking, to paralytic drunks, to date rape drugs in the drink - it almost looks like he's trying to redefine his original statements so they don't look quite so ridiculous.
And yes, I would be worried if I were a friend of fetboys - they have a distressingly high incidence of rape. Makes you wounder what he's up to.

Rubbish - utter, complete rubbish. And highly damaging rubbish if he's involved in counseling. I been involved with serious PTSD cases and some idiot spouting crap about "love heals all" is going to seriously fuck them up. Nearly as bad as "Just get over it already"

Personally I am terrified of all mood-altering drugs, and I have never used mood-altering drugs, even recreationally. I don't even drink, because I hate the way even small amounts of alcohol affects me.
He has issues and should not be allowed anywhere near a counselling center, counsellors need to be flexible, open minded, experienced in life and most of all *not* push their own agendas.
However, oddly enough, I agree with most of what he said re treatment of animals on a previous thread - "Feminist blog goes to the dogs", but then I am quite dogmatic on the subject of animal welfare.
