Pity Lohan? And BS and Couric are calling for an end to her "exploitation?" Wow, taking hypocrisy to new heights.
How stupid and gullible are the BS fluffers and their readers?
Helllooooo? Lohan is a exhibitionist! If she wasn't deliberately an exhibitionist, she'd be a C grade actor or possibly waiting tables.
And the only reason we keep hearing of her, is because "reporters" like Couric and Broadsheet fluffers keep covering her.
I'm sick of her, and would like to never hear of her again.
She's a mindless bimbo, a disaster in motion, and needs serious help totally removed from the media. She's a danger to herself, a danger to others, a terrible example for anyone, and her negative effects are being exploited and multiplied by media pimps including Couric and Salon.
I know a little about drug addiction. Cocaine makes you think your invulnerable. It makes you go out and sing karaoke as loud as you can at your local bar, dance with strippers, have sex with dangerous men, and generally act, as we are fond of saying down south, like a fool. Drunk and dial takes on a whole new meaning after you've blown through and eight ball. You can't tell me that Lilo's strung out missives aren't fueled by Pablo Escobar.
LL's behavior, at least in my humble opinion, reminds me of the way I acted in my early twenties...when I rode the white pony quite a bit. And I didn't have a lot of money, which saved me. I didn't have assholes like Healthy skeptic, the paparazzi, the news media, hanging on ever train wreck moment of my life.
It's going to get worse if the courts and the parasites attached to her skin don't through her ass in jail. Not ritzy rehab, jail. For a while. Like they did to Robert Downy Jr. She's an addict, and like every addict in this country, she should be treated as such.
Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland, who we now understand got so sick because of the pressures they faced to be what their audiences wanted: pretty and energetic and sexy and available to everyone.
Speaking of victim feminism...
Marlyn Monroe had mental problems from an early age, mostly due to social/economic issues, and likely due to congenital causes. Her problems were not the result of "pressures they faced to be what their audiences wanted."
Her family had long struggled with poverty and been migrant workers. Her grandparents had an extremely difficult life, her grandfather died of syphilis. She was born in a charity ward, and given by her mother to be raised by foster parents. Her mother had a history of mental illness and was probably bipolar, which can be congenital. After Monroe moved back with her at age seven, she witnessed her mother being taken screaming and laughing into a state asylum. Marilyn Monroe became a ward of the state and grew up in a series of foster homes. She married the first chance she got at 16.
After factory work, she became a model, and quickly rose to success and fame in a few short years.
However, unlike many other successful stars, she was particularly incapable of dealing with fame due to her childhood and possibly due to congenital mental illness, which then led her to erratic behavior, a series of failed relationships, depression, drug addiction and death.
She's a tragic case, but certainly was not a victim of her celebrity. She was the victim of bad parents, extremely unfortunate childhood, mental illness in a family with a history of mental illness, and drug addiction. Plenty of other more mentally stable stars dealt with fame much better.
What does he have to do with Lohan? It's very different.
Lohan, Hilton, and their ilk wouldn't hardly be in the media, if not for their self destructive exhibitionism. Lohan is C grade actor at best. Hilton is just another rich deb, and if she didn't release her sex tape and regularly make an ass of herself, wouldn't be on TV.
Downy destroyed a very successful career with drug addiction. He was considered by some to be the best actor of his generation. (not me though) He could have gotten far more movie roles and been a far bigger star had he not self destructed. So he would have been in the spotlight more without destroying himself.
Which is completely the reverse of Hilton and Lohan.
Who also had a bad childhood and was unable to cope with fame. Her tragic childhood, mental illness, chronic weight problems, and drug addiction killed her.
We can't pretend that the country doesn't talk about this stuff, or that we -- yeah, most of us, including those of you who clicked on this item -- bear some responsibility for participating in a celebrity marketplace that rewards young women for titillating and entertaining and amusing us with their badly behaved antics and then tosses them aside when the costs of those antics begin to mount and they become sick or addled or bloated or unattractively emaciated or pregnant or incoherent or just plain older.
I take it your editor just doesn't bother with your shit anymore?
Their tiaras are just SO goddamned heavy. Doesn't your heart just bleed for 'em?
Even when a woman has all the money and fame in the world, she's still a pathetic victim who needs lots and lots of everyone's sympathy.
Judge Judy called out Lohan for being dumb and arrogant. At first, I thought Judge Judy was out of touch with the concept of addiction. But after having listened to the male passengers' account on TMZ (which I found credible) and reading her (presumably sober) proclamation "I'm innocent", I'm on Team Judy. Lohan needs to be locked away for a long time. For society's sake. She might have a substance problem, but I think the issue of personal responsibility looms larger. And to blame it on "the black guy"? Nice easy target! Beyond the pale.
All the adulation (which she admits she revels in) has created a monster. A monster who knows no limits, and thinks it owns the town. And obviously Dina as a mother hasn't helped the situation. Don't even get me started about the father.
I love how everyone says her friends are these predatory people on her payroll, and she's this nice kid getting taken advantage of. I think it's the opposite. She's a bitch. I imagine that her "friend" who sold pics of her getting coked up is a nice person who was on the receiving end of Hurricane Lohan. She probably dropped Lohan as a friend for valid reasons, and might actually had Lohan's interest in mind when she publicized Lohan's coke habit.
