Re: When the feminists are being funny, ha ha, no one seems to get it
Ok, I'll bite - any ideas why that might be the case? :-)

So...
...some women in Spain want to join in the annual Running Of The Morons? So, let them.
My dad's from Spain, and our family has always regarded that event as idiotic. A bunch of foolhardy guys wanting to show off how ballsy they are, whooppee! (A humorous aside - did you know that the word ballsy translates literally into Spanish as "stupid"? That's right. "Having balls" in Spain is definitely not a compliment.)
Even though I'm a lifelong feminist, there are some occasions when I can't imagine why women with perfectly functioning brains would want to join men in some of the silly crap they dream up. Whatever.

@Chuchundra
Actually, the punch line to that joke is:
One. And it's not funny!
See, without the number, it isn't an answer to the question.

cultural events
are... cultural events. i.e. the culture and history shape the event, and what is accepted is whatever the majority of people find acceptable. Women who want to run with the bulls are a tiny fringe.
The men run and there is an expectation some of them will be injured or even killed, and for the most part it's a free for all, because most of the culture accepts it. The culture doesn't accept the notion of women being gored by bulls, or for that matter that women should have to defend themselves by their fists in bar fights either. It's part of the whole culture. Any woman who would like a man to step in an help defend her if she's getting beat-up in a bar, help men are much less likely to receive, shouldn't expect for women to run with the bulls.
It's an ancient tradition stemming from a time when men hunted and also when warfare occurred regularly and were expected to be macho. Resources were scarce, survival was more difficult, and it was often a man's job to insure familial survival by strength.
Men would expand lands to beat back wild predators and large territorial creatures like bulls (and wolves, etc) or go to war for the same purpose, to benefit their family and offspring.
Women don't have that tradition or history. It's a gender segregated event by cultural history.

I'm with DurianJoe....
I always root for the bulls. The animals are doomed anyway; they might as well gore a few humans in the groin along the way.

Think about how the cows must feel about it
Has anyone asked them?
