As far as women's programs outnumbering men's, it would be great if we as a society could start from square one on the condition we all promise to treat each other equally. If so, it would eliminate the need for any special treatment. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen anytime soon.

Oh really
"Her main argument seems to be that women -- the gatekeepers of sexuality -- have carelessly thrown their legs wide open, offering free entry to any and every guy who crosses their path."
How do I apply for transfer to this planet?

We Just Don't Care...
I love the archetype of my generation (tail end of the X-ers)as stoned slackers that would rather play video games, but like many stereotypes, there is an element of truth to it.
I watched two work-a-holic parents spend 12-hours-a-day at jobs they hated (and that they still have)...why would I want that life? I don't begrudge women the opportunity to take full advantage the relatively new options available to them. And I'm not pouting that you've taken all the good jobs (that's the trust-fund kids of both genders, but that's another topic), I just don't want any part of the rat race. I want to collect my check and go home to where my actual life is.
Ladies, it has nothing to do with your new found sexual freedom (which I'm all for). It has nothing to do with you as competition or equals or even superiors...it just has to do with us. We have no interest in jumping through hoops for anyone, be it our boss or be it our mates. And we think we are fine, so your criticism of us only annoys us and makes us wonder what has you so uptight.
So, women of the world, feel free to play the game while we opt out. Have fun running the world, just leave us alone. And if you don't like us, there are plenty of rich alpha males twenty years our senior who'd love to date/marry/knock you up, so have fun with that...

Ben Dover's Greatest Hits!
(from the past two weeks, anyway...)
“Looks at the Duke U. "Group of 88". Primarily women and extreme feminits. Fascinated with the sound of their own voices. Militant and angry. Roundly disproven and demonstrated to be liars and fabricators yet they don't have the common sense or intellect to grasp simple facts and empirical data which is in direct contradiction with their position. They are delusional...”
“A sizable % of American women are…bitches who feel a sense of entitlement that is neither earned nor deserved.”
“[Psychologists or psychiatrists] ignore personal responsibility and conduct and support indefensible positions. You will also find most are shrill, screeching feminists.”
“Women leave, women die, women steal, women rape the marital estate having contributed nothing to it, women want all the control but no responsibility.”
“Useless bitches who want the huge weddings, dump them.”
“Women and minorities have more rights and laws to protect them them white males. You only marginalize yourselves by claiming the patriarcy exists and use it to justify your pathetic lives and chronic failures.”
“so you are a woman! Thank you for clarifying your histrionics and pathetically ignorant explanations.”
“Nebris…is just a fat dyke.”
Benji, my love...if this is what women are like, how can it possibly NOT be hard to be a dude?
Kisses,

One question, Linney...
If women had equal opportunities, why was there a need for mentoring programs, goverment set-asides, etc.? Are you going to get up here and insist that women have always had an equal shot at employment and fair treatment? (Yeah, as blinkered and angry and deluded as you are, you probably would.) Get this and get it straight--programs like that were correctives to _centuries_ of men having total say in the workplace and at home. There's no way you can argue sexism didn't exist and there was a need for change, so your arguement is essentially worthless.
-
Make that...
"there wasn't a need for change." Sorry.
-
Oh, and to the patriarchy deniers...
Please study this photograph carefully. Thank you.

Bend diddly over
"I can identify dozens women's only mentoring programs"
Be my guest, start identifying. My point is this: We indeed live in a patriarchy. I don't care if you believe it or not. it's clear your mind is made up but I ask you this, who has waged ALL wars, caused more destruction to innocent civilians, the environment, committed more violent acts, etc.? Are there more male leaders of countries (another invention of patriarchy)than female leaders? Are you seriously saying that women-only empowerment programs are more destructive to your existence?
Who's trying to shout out whom? It's called debate, chump. oh no, men never prove themselves to be liars or fabricators. idiot. keep dreaming "loon". Are you so sure of yourself that women want to join "your" sausage parties?
-
You Rock, Emily!
Just wanted to say. :)
-
How responsive ladies
you only repeat what I wrote. The truth hurts, doesn't it? Still convinced the Duke LX players raped someone? They didn't. There are too many women's only programs to mention. Come back with some real information, if you can.

hellacopter, you should read more often than you post

A Research and Mentoring Program for Undergraduate Women in Computer Science
Gosh that was hard.
Note to emily, yes we can all find pictures of fucktards, often times there are lots and lots of men in these pictures. Congrats: no one is saying that there aren't a lot of fucktards in the world.
It's not clear to me the link between those guys and your mythical sky enemy that is making you paint your nails, shave your pits, shave your vagina, trim your labia, throw up your meals, chase after abusive men, avoid respectful men, and all the other things you blame the patriarchy for doing to you. On the basic level of how to argue, one data point does not a line make. One data point can be used to disprove a theory, but it cannot be used to prove a theory.
To whomever said that men have caused all wars... ORLY? Boadicea? Elizabeth 1st? Queen Victoria? Margaret Thatcher? Indira Gandhi? Golda Meir? Isabella of Spain? Rani of Jhansi? Mary Queen of Scotts?
