Re: This is exactly what I mean

"You don't know what the facts are, and when informed, you don't care."

Now you're putting words in my mouth. I do care about studies, and have read up on them, but I don't care about YOUR interpretation of the data. By the way, there hasn't been any studies done on freebirths, so your "facts" don't even apply.

"Most women are not going to base important health decisions on your experience"

I certainly hope not. I hope like me they will read extensively, not just studies and books but also the experiences of real women. These experiences are just as important as any book written about birth. I want them to make their own decisions, unlike you. I trust that the average woman, once given reasonable amounts of information, will come to an informed decision that is good for her.

For those who are interested, there are numerous online sites and chat groups; one of the best is a Yahoo group called c-birth, with approximately 900 members. You can get a free copy of members' self-recorded free births if you send in a blank videotape and a SASE. I found it extremely valuable in my education.

It's now easy to connect in person with other women who've had freebirths—I guess despite your fearmongering propaganda, our numbers are growing.
