Okay, I have to respond to this one...
If Doyle (or Katie O'Beirne. Or Sylvia Hewlitt. Or Diane Crittenden) believe a woman's whole life should be being a wifey/moo, why don't _they_ live it?
Who said that she doesn't? Deering, you make the assumption that because she's a smart, driven, independent woman, that's incompatible with the thesis of her book. As I understand it (and yes, I actually went to the site and read what she has to say), there is no such incompatibility. You apparently just assume that an independent, intelligent person can't possibly choose a course of action that includes prioritizing someone else's opinion over one's own.
