What Democracts Should Fear
I'm sure most Democracts will agree that they've nominated some pretty weak presidential candidates in the past 2 elections (no? well, they couldn't beat W). Democracts shot themselves in the foot with slightly less than electable candidates. Why, why, why in the hell would they nominate someone who could alienate voters, for any reason? It's wrong to not vote for someone because they don't have a penis, but, this is America, and we'll just count up the votes, and that will be that (no intended irony).
How many Democrats would prefer losing the next presidential election because voters were anti-feminists, to winning the election with Barack Obama?
I'm a dude, I won't vote for Hillary because she scares me. But I will vote for a Democrat if you nominate anyone other than her. Fair? Maybe not, but, it's my vote, in Ohio, and it's worth like 350 votes on a coast. So, maybe you should take me seriously, or not.

i spell things wrong
but they still let me vote

It wouldn't take much
It wouldn't take much, and party would have little to do with it. I work with a few liberal leaning men, and they all have razzed me about wearing pink shirts to work. Men and women are difficult to shake from their preconceived notions about gender roles.

You'd think we'd be over this by now...
...but apparently boys will be men will be boys forever. Remember the slogan we tried to teach our sons: "Men of quality are not threatened by women of equality." So much for maternal influence!
Maybe this is also related to the fact that most right-wing-male talk jockeys feature LOTS of "male enhancement" ads on their radio shows! As stated, Freud couldn't have done better.

It's not fear
I'm not afraid to vote for Hillary because of what it might say about me as a man. I'm not apt to vote for Hillary because we've had six years of a polarizing president, and we don't need another four.
Let's please nip this "not voting for Hillary = sexist" meme right now.

Vote for Hillary?
Sure, I'll vote for Hillary. However, if she happens to not be the Democratic Party's nominee, I'll vote for whomever the Democrats run, even if it's an old, yellow dog! The Rethuglican Party has to be stopped!

This is nothing new.
The people who have voted for G.W. Bush always irrationally have hated Senator Clinton. For years, Rush Limbaugh has said, "And then there's Hillry!" whenever his show bogs down, and he gets an immediate laugh from his audience.
Many women quietly like her, though. They like her a lot. Maybe they like her enough to overcome the irrational hatred. Or maybe we should put Senator Edwards at the top of the ticket.

"Men of quality are not threatened by women of equality."
Funny how no woman should be presumed to be anything less than "of quality", but a man needs to prove it.

This issue isn't the one that worries me, sorry
I'm more concerned with why no Democratic contender has any position at all on the War on Drugs.
What is Hillary's position? If it's anything like her husband's, then no way would I vote for her.
But will I even be able to find out her position on this issue before I'm supposed to vote in a primary?
It almost seems like the media and the mainstream Democrats have done something to make this issue disappear.
Maybe these severed penises are part of a magic trick?
A magic trick where an entire social issue disappears while the audience is distracted by a severed penis floating over their heads.

Why Isn't This In a Salon Section "Guysheet"?
Oh yeah, the whole REST of Salon is Guysheet with a few token females thrown in...here's the names on your index page today. Salon has got a diversity problem. Why? And why not have a "Gender Section" or "Genderizer" or whatever name you want to give it, where you put issues pertaining to GENDER, and balance things out, instead of pink-scarf stereotype "Broadsheet"...and then, once you do that, DIVERSIFY your regular contributors. Is this 2007, or 1954?

Questioning Hillary Clinton's qualifications makes me a sexist?
If I question Obama's does that make me racist as well? I say that in comparison to John Edwards, Al Gore or even John Kerry neither Clinton nor Obama has yet proven enough leadership skills to be the right candidate at this time. It has nothing to do with race or gender and I resent the implication that to question their experience makes me a hater. Voting for Hillary Clinton simply because she is a woman is just as sexist as voting against her because she's a woman.
That being said, you're spot on with regard to the term bitch being thrown around to describe any woman who isn't submissive. I question the masculinity of men who are that threatened by women. I strongly doubt that any man who is that fearful of strong women has the courage, self-confidence or leadership capability to be president.
Our next president needs to be a Democrat but also needs to be experienced enough to rally America's support and lead us out of this horrible time in our history. Both Clinton and Obama are young enough to have plenty of time to prove themselves, plenty more election cycles in their future. Just because their time isn't now doesn't mean that time won't come and my thinking so doesn't make me prejudiced.

reverse psychology won't work
So what are you trying to bait us into here? Does a vote for hillary prove we're not republican lapdogs? Does voting for a woman in "opposition to gender roles" prove we have massive sack? Will it get us laid by feminists?
It looks like democrats are trying to think their way into another loss. Great.
If you supported kerry, you share the blame.

Talking Joan Walsh Blues
I mean, hey, listen, Joan, it's a hell of a lot worse than you think. This morning I got up to brush my teeth, and there was a Democrat Sexist in the medicine cabinet! Driving to work, I heard some odd rustlings in the backseat -- I think there was a sexist back there! And by the watercooler, I heard snide remarks directed at Hillary Clinton -- by sexists! What possible reason could they have for disliking Hillary Clinton? Only one: She's a woman! And even saying the word "woman" makes me, for one, feel castrated! I'm even using lots of exclamation points as a kind of talismanic exercise, because they're rather phallic!
O save my sweet weiner from women in suits! God help me, look at my brain: There's a Democrat Sexist in there!
