Death threats dog female blogger

Evidence of rampant misogyny, or the price of doing business in the blogosphere?

I wasn't sure you'd realize

that I was being tongue-in-cheek there :-)

What are the misogynist complaining about?

So the misogynists are complaining that the anonymous threats of sexual violence and death have not been proven in a court of law. Is there a reasonable presumption that something nefarious has been done? I think so ... and I think Kathy Sierra has the right to complain and take whatever legal action to protect herself.

If this were an isolated incident or if Ms. had a history of making unsubstantiated allegations then I would have skepticism about her claims.

As of now no one is being accused of a crime just hateful language. I have no problem with the perpetrators being ostracized in the same way that other hate mongers. I won't buy their books, I won't go to their conferences. I won't support them in any way ...

It Amazes Me...

...how the same words mean different things to different people.

Kind words can be twisted, and hateful words can be turned shiny. And everything in between.

The problem isn't just misogyny, it's misandry, too.

And I agree with the point that Jonathan or BrightStar made about this issue as it related to men and women hating and "loving" each other at the same time.

Some people really NEED to fight in order to get excited enough to have sex. Not my cup of tea, but if that's what gets 'em off, I have no judgment against them.

And I think everyone needs to realize and recognize that romantic love is about HATE, it's not about love. It's about me trapping you into hanging out with me long enough for me to figure out how you got all of X that I don't think I have, so that I can then have more of X for myself.

Most relationships end with hurt feelings precisely for this reason.

All long term relationships pass the point where romance has to be tempered by friendship and genuine love.

So I tell everyone to start at the end of your romantic relationship and work backward. Start at the ending, it's the best way to begin!

Start off despising one another, mistrusting each other and calling each other bad names in public. Pick fights with them.

Get all that crap out of the way, up front, so that you can enjoy the rest of the relationship without this crap dogging you.

I am an atheist, therefore

it is impossible for to have god(s). I vote with my wallet and my wealth. I hire those that will do the job, mostly and preferably men, without bitching and complaining and therefore avoid unnecessary litigation and expense. It I have 2 people, 1 man and 1 woman, and the man is slightly less qualified than the woman. I will hire the man. I will get more from him with fewer problems.

You vote with your wealth

And it also helps to have two MBAs, in fact to be the only person on earth to have received an MBA from Princeton. No wonder you could have hiring problems. It's hard to find people as Speshul as you!
