Does Hallmark make virginity valentines?

Thai teens seem intent on losing their virginity on the 14th.

The letters thread is now closed.

Well, it is V-Day

And V-Day is about vaginas. Makes sense.

Theory

They must not have Prom in Thailand.

Cunts and Cocks

V-Day isn't all above vaginas, Jim. It's about penises too. What do you thing that arrow piercing a heart is supposed to symbolize?

I know, I know. You're just upset that the Thai police have disrupted your Valentine's plans. You'll just have to settle for the 12-year old boys this year.

What about American girls?

And American women, for that matter. Do THEY plan to reward their significant others on Feb. 14 with "payback" for that teddy-bear-holding-a-heart (catch the SNL reference, people)?

Are there any statistics that show unusually high birth rates on or about October 14?

V-Day Babies

Re: whether more babies are born nine months after Valentine's Day, which actually would be Nov. 14, not Oct. 14, because if you carry to term, you carry for the entire ninth month.

This is purely anecdotal, but I had my son right around then (and I believe he was conceived the week of Valentine's Day - but not actually on the day! - we're not that cheesy), and the two weeks before and the week after, the midwives I went to were absolutely swamped. Babies popping out left and right and no sleep for anybody. And the hospital was swamped. They hardly had enough maternity beds.

For what it's worth ...

Isn't Thailand the child sex capital of the world?

Having witnessed so many children being sold to sex tourists like pieces of meat, perhaps the Thai authorities have become overly sensitized to issues of teen sexuality. It is traumatic to see children being used like that. And even secondary trauma can make people reactionary.

Have you ever been to Thailand? Have you ever even been outside the USA??

No??

Then shut the f**k up.
