The person who filed this lawsuit is obviously an idiot craving attention.
The question is how did the land of KamaSutra and Tantra turn into this?
Wshould remember that India is a broken civilization broken by
Muslims for over 1000 years and then by the English with their Victorian norms.
So what passes for Indian Culture is an amalgam of various taboos, rules introduced by all kinds of invaders and the rules adopted by a society under siege. The newer generation is slowly breaking out of all that. I am guessing in another 100 years if India remains free of Muslims and Christians it will bloom to its original free thinking ways.
Way back in the 50's or earlier last century Raj Kapoor put a woman with bare breasts in his film. Unfortunately he died young and with him so did much hope for original, artistic film in Bollywood. After that Indians saw the generic, cheesy love/musical formula rise to popularity which unfortunately still dominates. Apparently actress Rani Mukherjee also had a long kiss in one of her films a few years back as well. So whoever this lawyer is, they really shouldn't have much basis to be heard in court seeing that this has happened before. Considering the fact that Mira Nair's "Kama Sutra" won the right to play in some cinemas this really is appalling. I applaud Rai and Roshan for pushing these taboos.
How am I supposed to take any culture seriously that instigates a lawsuit over kissing?
Don't worry, I'm not holding American 'culture' up as some sort of ideal.
