While I agree with your sentiment, your article comes across as childish and petty (as all your other articles do). Can someone enlighten me as to why Ms. Traister's words belong on this otherwise reputable site? I'm really curious.

Tierney Always Made Good Sense
All of Tiereny's collumns had an almost anasialable logic to them. I think this is what bothered the femists so much. He was right about everything!
It is not coincidence that Tierney is fond of science. People who care about the truth will form their opinions based on reality, and not some wishful thinking social agenda.
I'm sad to see him go. Who's going to complain about the complaint gap now?

If one assumes you meant "unassailable," then nonetheless, "almost unassailable," inherently means, "assailable." Presumably, if one is being logical, there should be no "almost" about it.
As far as the RT bashfest goes--I think she and the editors GET IT, since it's the same peanut gallery calling for her head every single time she posts. But she's not going anywhere, because, truth of the matter is, those of us who enjoy her writing don't actually find it necessary to give her pats on the back for doing her job (however well). This is Salon, not some kind of election for the homecoming royalty.

Do smart successful women get married?
I dated (and slept with) four outstanding women in the '60's who were getting advanced degrees from a prestigious university. I married one and we had two daughters. The other three never got married or had children. They were bright, fun, and good-looking, and loved sex. It was difficult then and probably more difficult now for bright beautiful women to find a suitable mate. My beautiful, bright 35-year old daughter has a very interesting and responsible job, but is unable to find a suitable mate. Our other daughter found a good guy in college, got married, and has two sons. She is very happy being a non-working housewife. But I think she decided that marriage and children were more important than a career. My wife, despite her advanced degree, was not too interested in a major career, although when we started a couple of high-tech companies she leapt into the CFO job with alacrity. At 55 she started a new career as a composer, which is great fun for her, but is not for those who need money. Her works have been performed at a number of universities, so it is very gratifying. I just got off the phone with my bright and beautiful unmarried daughter. She said that although men are quite happy marrying a good-looking woman who might not be as bright as they are, women do not want to marry a man with less intellect than they have. So my daughter, who could read at 4th grade level the day she entered kindergarten, has a very small population to choose from.

Every so often I check back into Broadsheet to see if that everpresent whiny little cabal of dudes have found something else to do with their time other than read every single Rebecca Traister post day in and day out, and then whinge about how they don't like her. Darn, you're still here. *That* is what sucks about Broadsheet. Pathetic.

Do you honestly believe that those of us who do not like Traister (and I'm ignoring the anti-feminist troll here) dislike her for personal reasons, or do you accept that some of us find her writing strident and her analysis purile? I'm not asking you to agree with those poinions, just want to understand whether you see this as personal or the honest critiques of Broadhseet fns.

My bad with the spelling. At least I didn't write anusailable! You could really have dug in on that one.
Ii think the posts here are indicative of the a serious malaise at Broadsheet. The truth is that the whole premise of broadsheet as a place for women to go to complain about perceived inequalities has come into question by increasing numbers of people. Perhaps even the bloggers themselves.
It's easy to dismiss some people as anti-feminist. But the truth is most of us could just as easily be described as choice feminists. And we are winning the war.
