Why are we so quick to use the "G" word to describe Rev. Haggard rather than the "B" word?
Can anyone tell me the real difference between the Good Rev. Mark Driscoll and the Good Sheik Taj El-Din Hamid Hilaly?
It's a sad commentary on the distaff half that guys like these are permitted to breed. But, of course, we also let Republicans vote.
They had five kids together! If she had been anymore available, Madonna would be trying to adopt one of the litter!
bringing up the times he's been coveted by men.
In all honesty though WTF with this whole 'tempted' thing with evangelicals and homosexual sex?! I'd rather suck the poop out of a dead donkey's anus than have sex with another man... There's no temptation there for me... but then again, I'm straight.
So what one day when his beautiful wife starts showing the ravages of time, because it will happen, no one can look 25 or 30 forever, that then he'll feel free to cheat with the young nubile beauties that hit on him because hey, his wife isn't hot any more? Misogynistic jackass. I dont know, why isn't he discussing with his congregation that the women shouldn't be trying to pile on a married man's penis if they believe in God too, isn't premarital sex wrong? Oh I believe in God, I'm a pastor of my church, but the only reason I'm faithful is cause my wife is still pretty. Way to prove your loyalty to your faith asshole. The religious are all full of shit, they lie, steal, cheat just like everyone else and they have the nerve to walk around with some holier than thou attitude cause they help build their neighbors fences.
Ted cheated cause he's gay, gay, gay and can't admit he's gay so instead chooses to be a raving bigot. Imagine, Ted likes dudes cause his wife ain't hot. Yeah, that's why gay men exist, there are just too many ugly women walking the streets.
I really want to kick Mark in the balls.
I am just stunned that there are men who believe this crap and share it with the world as "gospel". Pastors like these give the rest of the Christian world a very bad name. As a devote Lutheran Christian from Seattle (yes, there are more than 2 of us in the Northwest), I'm embarrassed to share the same piece of ground with this jerk. In most Lutheran churches the main tenant of our faith is living in and sharing the grace of Christ. That even applies to our spouses, what a shock. I wonder what Christ would have to say about the Evangelicals? There is nothing to admire in people in only know how to tear down and judge, rather than build up and care.
Chris
The quote about poor Gayle being a sexually unavailable obese hag has been taken down from the blog. Thank goodness you and others were able to preserve it for us - I think I'm going to email my local news stations, asking them to interview Driscoll and provide us further enlightenment about what we women in Seattle need to do to keep out men faithful - I have to head out to the gym now.
I take that back. It's right there on the blog. My bad. What a bastard.
I took one minute to Google Gayle Haggard and came up with an interview in which she says, "Even if God gifts her (a pastor's wife) with other ministry abilities, she must recognize that her first and second God-given priorities are to serve her husband and children well. " Her "service" has sure paid off, hasn't it? I do feel sorry for this woman, but if you read the complete article, she comes off extremely poorly. (She is attractive though!)

Finally, an explanation for my own homosexuality - it was those flabby, out of shape nineteen-year-old girls I was dating! They failed to arouse me sufficiently and so, I had to turn to men.
If you ladies would just learn to be more submissive and more shapely, homosexuality would disappear.
Reality, of course, tells us that the real seducers are these Daughters of Eve. These young women sashay their way through God's world in their mini-skirts, low cut and see through blouses and tight pants. They wear these clothes to flaunt their curvaceous bodies for the eyes and attentions of men.
Having said that. Remember, Virginia, YOU are responsible for your actions. Always. Not somebody else.
They have several kids together, and she has the stomach to sit in the car with her husband while he is being interviewed by reporters.
This is absolutely disgraceful - the woman has been a saint throughout this whole incident, and now she's being "blamed" for her closeted husband's gay affair.
Horrific.

My boyfriend's got a beer belly out to here, doesn't dress nice, and farts something awful, should I go gay?
I read a little more on the blog regarding this - Driscoll's views on quite a few things are troubling to me.
The part about a pastor hanging out at his church lest some "hurting single mom" come in - I grew up in Europe, where many Catholic churches are open 24 hours a day, with staff. True, Driscoll isn't a Catholic, but it's at these odd times when people are most in need; I've not known many spiritual crises to occur only during business hours. Is it not the responsibility of the pastor, as a man, excluding his title and position, to not take advantage of someone (not just women) in need? Is this something that we actually have to spell out to our ministers nowadays - "Please don't take advantage of people that need your help."?
I also loved this quote..."I have been blessed with a trustworthy heterosexual male assistant who can travel with me, meet with me, etc., without the fear of any temptations or even false allegations since we have beautiful wives and eight children between us."
Sure, but Haggard's married and has kids. Didn't protect him from the good Lord making him gay, now did it? Hate to be flip, but well, there it is. And yes, yes, I know, Haggard's never said that he's gay.
I love that so many of the troubles that Driscoll sees are with women - flirtatious women, pastors wives that let themselves go, female assistants (second and practical wives). I only wish that we women really had so much power over men as Driscoll gives us.
