Women can and do involve themselves in the patriarchy. Men do not conform wholly to patriarchal tools.
One of the most damaging tools in this structure is the obsession with appearance and its unequal application to one gender. That is what this camera, the fashion and entertainment industry, and the diet and beauty industry prey upon.
Oh, and to the dancer, it isn’t the men’s preference for a certain weight that causes us to implicate them in the patriarchal structure, it’s the fact that they feel so entitled to women’s sexuality that they will pay for it.
