Woody Harrelson's goddess trilogy

A little nugget of hilarity we picked up over at the Fix.

The letters thread is now closed.

Thanks for making me smile

That kinda takes care of the "Are you going to try for a boy next" question, doesn't it?

That guy really is a bastard, isn't he?

Bringing three baby womyn into this evil and oppressive planet, where they will be molested by their evil and oppressive father, raped by their evil and oppressive boyfriends and sexually-harrassed by their evil and oppressive co-workers.

What's the matter with that Harrelson pothead? Has he no sense of decency?

Thanks, Woody.

I needed something to cheer up what has been an otherwise dreary day. This isn't the first time Woody has made me smile.

Apparently johnfairfax is another Broadsheet troll. Too bad so many men like him aren't able to leave women in peace.

Wow, Woody

I just put my baby boy to sleep, and was wondering what a mother could do to prepare her son for this crazy world we live in (ok, I saw the Ann Coulter video just before I put him to bed...). The same way you worry about a patriarcal world, I worry about raising my boy to be happy, strong, and prepared. For anything. Boys are going to have a tough time too, and I don´t think it´s so much the sex you are born with but how you assimilate masculine and feminine qualities inherent in your spirit. May our children learn how to manage the yin and yang, so to speak, and not tilt towards goddessness or godness exclusively. Balance is the key for their generation. The pendulum has already started to swing the other way (towards unbridled goddessness) and I just pray my son´s generation lands right in the middle of the pendulum´s trajectory. Your comment made me smile, if only because it mirrors my hopes and prayers for my boy.

Apparently Tallulah is a grim, hairy-legged lesbian

Hey you punk girl! Get offa my lawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently Parson Jim has a tiny penis.

Because you can just tell what they look like from what they write, obviously. Yeah, but in this case I'm dead sure.

Johnfairfax? Troll? Hardly.

In defense of aul' John there, he's one of my favorite posters. I was going to ask him out on a date as well (I've already asked "Brad"), but he's married. :(

All I could think of was

Cordelia, Regan and Goneril. How sharper than a serpent's tooth, baby.

The spin doctors have gone to work at Broadsheet

Woody is not just a "hemp" enthusiast, he's medical marijuana user and an outspoken marijuana activist.

And if he were here, he'd probably call you a few choice nasty names for being a part of the continuing media coverup of the marijuana and breast cancer story, which has been going on since the first research results were hushed up by the Nixon administration back in 1974.

You see, Nixon launched the War on Cancer and the War on Drugs both in 1971.

And he had this fantasy that the two could be linked together once they proved that marijuana caused cancer.

Except they didn't prove what Nixon wanted them to prove. Their research ended up showing the opposite. Instead of making lung and breast tumors grow, THC made them shrink and even die. Imagine their surprise!

A story that has gone untold by American journalists despite reams and reams of current science that not only supports the original research and but expands it.

Why don't you call Woody and ask for his opinion on your editorial policy?

Shine on you crazy diamond -- geez doesn't such rank hypocrisy bother you in the least???

Wednesday, June 7, 2006 08:59 AM

In fact hmmmmm

Since Woody has claimed in the press that he uses marijuana to help his biploar disorder -- which means he uses marijuana "just to feel good" -- shouldn't Broadsheet be denouncing him as an addict and recommending that his wife leave him and take the children and force him into rehab?

And now the links get tied together

Woody Harrelson testfied at the trial of BE Smith, a medical marijuana grower who was convicted by the feds back in 1999. Smith is a Vietnam veteran with PTSD. He was not allowed to mention in court that he used marijuana to treat his PTSD and grew it for himself and other medical users.

Woody was not allowed to mention Smith's PTSD in court either. He was really torn up about that, I remember.

It feels terrible not being allowed to tell the truth in court, after you swear that you will tell the truth.

But you can't tell the truth if federal law doesn't recognize the truth. So there you go. If that makes you angry, then you have to learn to live with that anger.

PTSD is real and history shows that soldiers have used it to cope with life after war for thousands of years.

Now the science is coming on board wth a growing understanding of how the brain's own cannabinoids help the brain keep traumatic memories from overwhelming the conscious mind. There is a sense now that damaged cannabinoid receptors could cause PTSD, and many of the physical problems that often accompany PTSD.

None of this science really gets explained to the public by the press. So the world goes on as if it never happened.

The New York Times chewed out the FDA for claiming that marijuana had no medical value.

But how could they blame the FDA for being ignorant, when the New York Times ignores every important piece of medical marijuana science that comes down the road.

Why should the FDA be expected to know anything if the New York Times keeps it all a big dark secret?

The science gets done, nobody reports it, and the world goes on as if it never happened.

Patriarchal my butt

name ONE THING George Bush or any of those other ass clowns are doing that their wives, grandmothers, and daughters do not support?

Wednesday, June 7, 2006 10:27 AM

Also

it is way too sad that ALL GUYS get broadbrush blamed and put down because of the irresponsible criminal behavior of the few elites running this planet.

While the elites are performing their criminal acts, they are not working in a vacuum but with the tacit acceptance of those men and women whose high social places they hekp maintain.

Feminism does not have an answer to any of this because in feminists imaginative minds men are always to blame and women are never to blame, and all men supposedly think the same way.
