What About Mom And Dad?

If the name itself is irrelevant as you and many readers say why not then just leave it alone? It obviouusly is important to those who chose to make up their own names or alternate or whatever. I kept my maiden name because I had travelled from Wisconsin, to Ireland and ultimately Alaska from California and I wanted my friends to be able to find me which would have never happened had I changed my name when I married. My kids have my husband's name and my middle name which they never use. Many friends who heard through the grapevine that I ended up in Alaska have found me. And, my and my husband's parents are happy, an added bonus. Sheila Burke, Eagle River, Alaska. P.S. They , the kids truly enjoy being "Scotlands" , together.
