Should we stop worrying about Roe v. Wade?

    To Jessica from Kansas:

This is why we have a Federal government. And to the poster who is concerned about the Supreme Court granting citizenship to the foetus - remember, the Supreme Court does not make law, it only interprets existing statutes. If the law is wrong, the place to get it changed is either the State or Federal government.

If the Supreme Court were to strike down Roe, then there would quickly be a Democrat dominated Federal government with the ability to legalize abortion nationwide. This is what the Republicans are scared of - it's better for them to have Roe on the books as a recruiting tool for the nutcases that they need to pander to in order to stay in power. They can chip away around the edges and make it almost meaningless, but its very existence still serves to rally the faithful.
