    My fat friend who got himself a mail order bride....

    You know, it never really occured to me before, but my friend (Malcolm) was taken away from his parents at a very young age - they were drug addicts or something, I forget, anyway he was taken away by family services, and raised in foster homes, several of them, probably never stayed in one foster family for more than a couple years - and I suppose he was well aware that his foster 'parents' were only taking care of him for the money - not out of love or anything, so he was himself a commodity, used for financial gain, and disposed of when the situation was no longer profitable. Although he never claimed abuse (not to me)I don't ever remember him having anything good to say about any of these foster 'parents' I guess his experience with his mail-order bride reflected that reality. Hmmm...
