Mississippi: last clinic standing under attack

When it comes to abortion rights, activists see the state as the "canary dying in the mine."

Good grief

I just donated $100 to saving the Jackson clinic. I wish I could do more, as a lucky native of a Scandinavian country where militant anti-abortionists are few, far between, and generally considered deranged.

Sorry you're sad, but guess what...

mpakron: I also find it sad that a woman's convenience, emotions, finances, etc. are more important than a human beings (sic) right to live.

Cheer up, mpakron! Since it's none of your goddamned business what personal choices women make about the size of their families, you needn't spend another second feeling sad. There are strangers out there, women you neither know nor care about, making choices that best serve their "convenience, emotions, finances, etc.," and you don't have to waste even one more moment worrying that they might be doing something of which you, mpakron of Wherever, America, disapprove.

The human beings are the ones who walk, talk, have friends, complex lives, people who care for them and people for whom they must care in turn. There's a difference between a human being and a clump of human tissue.
