I remember the Al Gore campaign - I was visiting friends in South Carolina, I had just arrived, this is what was on the radio at the time and I just thought "eeuuggh" that woman sounds humourless, charmless, bad bad bad - and when they turned the TV on and I saw it was Hillary in simulcast, I was shocked and dismayed. I hope it was an off day for her, even though it shouldn't have been. If that's what she always sounds like, she'll never be president.
