No birth control for Hindus

For one ideologue, more Hindu children means more power over Muslims.

Not too different from America?

I feel that a similar process is at work over here, though operating more tacitly. It seems, at least anecdotally, that most abortion protesters in America are white people, and that they protest at clinics where white women go. And it's always seemed to me that that part of their opposition to abortion is that white babies are being killed. This in turn plays to their unspoken fear of being "outbred" by other races, much as this Hindu pundit fears being outbred by Muslims. I'm not saying this is the sole, or even the primary, reason for their opposition to abortion specifically and birth control in general, but I've long suspected that it is a factor.

I'm Not So Sure, Howard K.

If the religious right, whom I'll concede might have white-separatist sentiments, were that afraid of being outpaced by non-white births, they'd ask to have abortion made available only to those they'd like to see eclipsed. They're not exactly known for clear thinking. No, I'm convinced they really feel Jesus wants all children to be born. They must be disabused of the notion that their morality must be foisted on all and sundry.

As to the India story, I'd like to point out that it was an activist of this pundit's organization that killed Mahatma Gandhi. They're dangerous.
