Context?

I've met Chris Klein a few times and know several people who've worked closely with him on film and theater projects. He's always come across as polite, enthusiastic, a bit naive, and generous with his time and money. I haven't read the ELLE piece, but I wonder about the context of these comments, as well as the interviewer's intention in profiling Chris in this fashion. Interesting to note that the writer is a man -- did he encourage a "locker room dish session" dynamic in order to get some good quotes?

(the Trifecta of referencing three different broadsheet posts from the same day - w00t!)

Maybe Katie employed the wrong stategy? Perhaps she should have "Looked for Mr. Mediocre"?

It's a well-known stereotype that hollywood marriages don't last. If she had simply picked some guy who earned less money than her (and that's probably a lot of guys) the lovable dumb guy (after all, less successful means dumber, right?) would no doubt have adored her, alleged weight fluctuations and understandable, human doubts over self-image and all...

Bad Katie

I think the real conclusion here is that Katie chooses hella weird men to date. She went from an icky misogynist to a nut job cult leading narcissist. I'd say she's 0 for 2. Go Katie!

High Profile Losers

Katie sure knows how to pick high profile losers. When she finally dumps Tom, who will she come up with? An even older loser? Donald Trump, Bill O'Reilly, Strom Thurmond Oh, yeah, Thurmond's dead. That makes him the least bad of that litter. Just prop him up in the corner and dust him once in a while.

Yeah, Tom was a real step up.

Somehow I don't think that brainwashing and cult indoctrination is preferable to the attentions of a guy who is young and doltish, but ultimately probably as harmless as a slice of white bread.

Neanderthal?

Please tell me what you know about Neanderthals and why you use the word to denigrate people.

When I read the word Neanderthal in an essay invariabley it's used to describe bad male behavior on the presumption that the word Neanderthal describes only males. Again, what do you know about Neanderthals, and has it never occurred to you that there were also Neanderthal women?
