what's with "catfighting"?
is that simple trolling for lots of outraged comment-posts for doing the cheap "un-p.c." stunt?
or does it indicate the superficiality of your interest in and grasp of what could be interesting issues?
oh please give me reason to hope for none of the above.
The blog is barely a day old and there's already two articles using the derogatory term "catfighting". And this one also leads off with porn-favorite term "girl-on-girl" as well. Funny, but I didn't realise the workplace was full of girls. Shouldn't they be in school instead, and leave the jobs to the women?
I remain baffled by this whole blog. Maybe you want to be edgy, but the controlling board won't let you be genuinely edgy, so you have to resort to this kind of thing instead. Maybe some marketing study said this was the only way to save Salon. Maybe I just don't get it because of the old Y chromosome. Whatever the case, I'll be surprised if this feature is still here a year from now in the same form. If it is, I'll be surprised if I'm still subscribing to read it.
Really, are you trying to piss your readership off today? Do you want us all to unsubscribe so you can take a long vacation to Cabo?
I don't know about Rebecca Traitster, but I don't catfight. What with not being a cat and all. I don't want to be all stick-up-my-ass feministy because I know that's not cool these days, but the whole "catfight" thing is so offensive. I hate it. I would explain why, but a) I shouldn't have to and b) it would be lost on the Broads anyway.
I have to admit, I'm ignorant of the inherent sexism in the term "catfighting" indicated by the posters above, and wouldn't mind being educated about it.
However, I have seen women and girls get into many physical altercations. I have also seen cats (usually males, but whatever) get into physical altercations. They really do look and sound pretty similar. Uncannily so, in fact.
