... have you folks over there in the States heard about this thing called climate change? Did you know that if you're anything like us Aussies more of your household's greenhouse gasses come from the production and disposal of goods and services you buy than from the electricity directly used in your home? (Link to pdf in signature) And I hate to say it, but my guess is that you actually buy more stuff than we do. Maybe you could have a look at Annie Leonard's storyofstuff site.
Kensington is a great brand, but they don't make the best external iPhone batteries.
There are others around the same size that hold a lot more power, adn therefore extend your iPhone or iPod's life by much more.
There are even others with external batteries that are almost exactly the same size (i.e. nice and small). QuickerTek just annouced one that holds 80% more power. 3G Juice has another just like the QuickerTek model. Richard Solo has a couple of models -- one with a built-in laser!
And what's more gagety than a built-in laser?
There are plenty more bigger external batteries that hold even more power. Some of them wrap around the iPhone, like a case.
Ars Technica did a round up of a few models in July, and more have come out since then. The Kensington model mentioned here is not the best one, just the one that comes from the best best known company.
That's where the iMuffs blue tooth headphones antenna base goes.
Came across this a few weeks back...

The Kensington is also less expensive than the alternate products ceolaf lists, which look mighty spiffy but come in at $45-$55, compared with the $32 of the Kensington model. Hell, for $99, there's also the Power Slider from Incase, which lets you forego the battery extender and just wrap the iPhone in a case that is also a battery.
