Comments about the series

Many are plainly stupid. Many have some credence. The dimininshed concentration on foreign influences is certainly true. But so fucking what? Make your own series.

As far as "not telling us anything new" what a fucking stupid comment. This is a history of the personal war. This means that some truths told in this series (discrimination in the US) were true, are well known, but are included nonetheless for completedness sake. After all, when we who know everything are dead, there will be our children, and much if not all of this is new to my children (17, 17 and 20). This is who the series is aimed at.

Great series

Thus far, I have thouroughly enjoyed the series. It is, at times, a bit asynchronous. But there is so much to say, and sticking to a single time-line would be very restrictive.

The Hispanic protest was repulsive, stupid and idiotic. My mother's family is Germanic, and thus far, there has been little about the German/Eastern European experience in the war. But that is not the point. The war united the US, and the Hispanic protest highlights exactly the wrong issue.

I knew from the instant I saw him

that this guy was wack.

I thought he was schizophrenic.

I did not guess that it was all a big theatrical performance, but I should have guessed because my daughter is the Queen of Theatre at her high school, as well as the Queen of the Fairies (she goes out with the gay guys).

A big fake. A put-up job.

What a jerk.

False accusations

"In an earlier part of my life, I taught at a university and had a student accuse me of sexual harrassment, and even though she was clearly lying (her story kept changing and made no sense), I went through 18 months of bullshit and ended up not getting tenure. "

That happened to me, except it was a racism accusation. I am really liberal, and am not a racist. Nonetheless, a racist comment was made by a student in my class. It was blamed on me by the fucking asshole who was the EEOC person at the school. I was not believed, and when I asked why the EEOC person believed the student instead of me, she said that the student had no reason to lie so of course she was telling the truth.

I didn't get tenure either.

Juan Williams

is on Fox News Sunday. What he does there, I have no idea. I called in when he was on a call-in show and told him, "Juan, you are supposed to be the liberal." He insisted, amazingly, that he was supposed to be a journalist, like Brit and Bill.

I'll just be quiet for a minute while you absorb that.

Fox News is the News Channel of Whores. They are NONE of them journalists. They are all hacks and whores.

I will call next time Juan is here for some local thing, and stick it to him again. If you're on Fox, you're either with 'em or agin 'em. You gotta figger out which you are.

Un-fucking-believable

Petraeus is going to sit there and say, "Who are you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?"

Without numbers, it is all shit. Of course, it's been pre-written shit from Nov 2006 on. No one, but no one, would ever have believed that Bush would ever allow in the truth.

The jobs report contains very little actual information

It is mostly statistical manipulation.

We can lose 4000 jobs (instead of gaining 150,000), and the unemployement rate does not change whatsoever. The Bush Administration, dishonest and full of fucking lying shits in all areas, is full of lying shits in this area as well. When you lose jobs, either the unemployment rate goes up a teensy bit, or the entire report is full of lies. Well, the unemployment rate did not change, leading us to the conclusion that the jobs report is full of shit from bottom to top.

The Democrats need to do their own jobs report, based on a monthly survey. To get an accurate estimation of the unemployment rate where the rate with approximately 5 %, you need to survey a large number of people. Statistically, we can determine the number of people to survey VERY VERY easily. I can deliver to anyone a sample size for this estimation problem, and the sample size would be in the range of 800-900. That's just a guess. We can also specify the precision. You can say 5% +- 1% (probably 3000-4000 for that precision), 5% +- 2% (probably 800-900), or so forth.

But since these lying cheating weasels run the Government, you cannot expect them to tell the truth. They are lying about the unemployment rate. They have lied since 2000.

My guess is that the ACTUAL unemployment rate is much closer to 9 %.

Vitter offers a very large target

I wonder if the LA Democratic Party will take advantage. It certainly should.

I would have cartoons of elephants wearing diapers with little baby elephants in the next room. Caption: "Family values in LA mean taking both your prostitute family and your political family to the same advertising shoot."

O'Conner

It is not a stain on her legacy.

It is her legacy.

She did nothing in her career which could top that. This one decision will be all that anyone ever remembers about her.

It was a political imposition of the court to ensure that the correct decision came out of the political sphere.

It showed that O'Conner was not a jurist, but just a politician ensuring that the correct court was there.

She will be remembered only for this, regardless of her own wishes.
