Obama's words
[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"And for 25, 30 years Democrats and Republicans have come before them and said we’re going to make your community better. We’re going to make it right and nothing ever happens. And of course they’re bitter. Of course they’re frustrated. You would be too. In fact many of you are. Because the same thing has happened here in Indiana. The same thing happened across the border in Decatur. The same thing has happened all across the country. Nobody is looking out for you. Nobody is thinking about you. And so people end up -- they don’t vote on economic issues because they don’t expect anybody’s going to help them."
You know, these are sensible and well-considered words. Because they are true. Every election season, politicians show up and make outlandish statements. They come down to PA from their NY mansions in their designer pants suits, saying whatever it takes.
And its all shit, really.
And that's what's the matter with Kansas, folks. Clinton and his little magic triangulation machine traded our Democratic issues for the support of the whores of Wall Street. Clinton killed the economic issues for the Democratic Party, because Bill and Hillary don't give a flying fuck for poor people or even middle class people. All they care about is getting elected, and getting on that gravy train.
Obama actually did the organizing. He actually did the work on the street. It's a triumph of Rovian/Swift Boating to take you opponent's strength and attack it directly. It's clever. It's also pretty evil. But HIllary has long since given up any semblence of fair combat. For her, now, it's "whatever it takes" and "dump the kitchen sink on Barack".
What Barack said is true. And he needs to say it more often, because there is a huge truth in that.
It's gonna win him Penn. As Hillary has gotten rid of Mark Penn, she will also get on the losing side of the state of Penn.

Posting while intoxicated should be a felony
[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]To whit,
"Of all times for the liberal contempt of those living in flyover country ..blather... Klintoon KultWack nonsense....deranged rantings... border patrol agents face constant warfare from drug runners."
What did any of that mean, carolininmemamd?

Clinton has become Rove-ified
[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary has adopted one Republican approach after another. Now, she has adopted the "elitist" rhetoric of Karl Rove and Lee Atwater. This is a very disgusting development.
Because Obama was telling the truth. People are bitter. And people have lost faith in political solutions to economic problems. Politicians come to these small towns which have no jobs and no prospects, and they are wearing their 1000 pants suits, and they say all kinds of crap, and none of it is true. That's why they stick with the cultural issues, because the economic issues are too big and too far away and seem too remote.
Obama is beginning to turn the corner on this one, and we will see more about this, and it will become a positive issue for Obama.

Hillary and Republican themes
[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Republicans, over the last 20 years, have accused Democrats of being elitist. Hillary is accusing Barack of being an elitist.
Republicans, over the last 20 years, have accused Democrats of being out of touch. Hillary is accusing Barack of being an out of touch.
Republicans, over the last 20 years, have accused Democrats of being anti-worker. Hillary is accusing Barack of being an anti-worker.
Why has Hillary adopted the methods of the Republican Party? Why is she systematically destroying the Democratic appeal to blue-collar people? Why does this hypocrit, this rich woman who has not spoken to someone making minimum wage in 20 years, accusing Barack of elitism?
Hillary is now a DINO. Why doesn't she just go ahead and switch parties?

Reagan WAS good
[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]at selling crap.
"I'm not saying their ideas were better. And it looks to me like their ideas have been really bad for our country long term. But that's not the point. They were able to convince enough people that there ideas were better. People bought what Reagan was selling. He was very good at it. I wonder why you cannot or will not acknowledge this distinction."
Fester, 100 % correct. Reagan was a good salesman. He sold shit to outhouse owners. This is a statement of fact, not an incorrect statement. That the Klintoonians cannot admit that Reagan was a good salesman means that they are in the process of buying more Republican shit.
I didn't like Reagan's ideas. But he did a good job.

Unelectable?
[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That would be Lady MacBeth, She who Must be Obeyed, Queen Hillary. She has a huge electability problem.
Of course, she knows how many hate her. That's why she is doing the scummy litle Rove-Jr. act. She is trying, thus far unsuccessfully, to use Rovian tactics to lower Obama to her own level. It's disgusting, it's nauseating, and it is politics.
What is NOT normal, what is deviant, is her pandering and pushing McBush over Obama. Disgusting, nauseating. That's the problem with Lady MacBeth; she is, by her own actions, destroying Democratic prospects for the fall.
I grant that she is testing Obama. what I don't accept as normal is the use of Republican methods.

I am simply amazed
[Read the article: Hey, Obama boys: Back off already!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have heard Hillary supporter after Hillary supporter say that it's either Hillary or John McCain. One after another, they say that they will not vote Democratic unless it is Hillary.
These people are in full Cult-of-Personality mode.
I have heard Hillary supporters say that they said, to Hillary's face, that they love her. Love a politician? Yuck. Oookey.
Perhaps I don't know the Obama wacks, and I am sure that there are some, but the Obama supporters come off as thoughtful, while the Hillary supporters are borderline, or fully flapped out, hysterics.
